Magic and Dragons
Chapter 13:

Vegeta had gotten up some time after the sun rose to start his own day. It wouldn't be long before Bulla had to get up and get herself ready for school. She just smiles at her dad as she gets her own breakfast and sits herself down. Vegeta turns his head to see his son outside. Trunks was normally never an early riser, but he got the idea that the girl had something to do with it. They were now sitting the grass as she pulled out different items from her bag. He decided to get a closer look, curious as to what she might be hiding.

She had a lot to go through as she showed him the dragon scales she had picked up. She had some from the shadow dragon, Firkraag, the red dragon, as well as a few silver. "Now, I didn't harm the silver, I found these at the back of her cave, when it comes to dragons silvers and golds are the only 'good' ones that don't really bother anyone.." Vegeta slides the glass door open to the backyard and crossed his arms. "I still have the cross bow she gave me, never cross an angry silver.." She shudders a bit as she continues to shift through her things. "The last dragon I faced was Abazigal, he was a blue dragon, and he was incredibly annoying..."

Vegeta leans down and picks up one of the scales from the shadow dragon. It had a strange shine to it as it absorbed any light that touched it. "You really killed a dragon..?" She looks up and nods. "Several, I can say I got the shadow myself, my friends and I took care of the rest, I kept the scales as a momento." Vegeta remained silent as he kept looking at it. Bulma soon pokes her head out, wondering what was going on outside. She looks at what Vegeta was holding and even she had to take a look. "On the scale of what's the strongest type of dragon out there, I think shadow is the highest, then red and Firkraag was indeed hard to kill."

Bulma pats her husbands arm, making him snap out of whatever he was thinking of. He returns the item to her and she smiles. "Thanks, I should clean this out, think I could use one of those capsule thingies to help me organize this mess?" Bulma was more than happy to show her what they had and leads her inside to go to her lab. Trunks slowly got up as he still had a small red scale in his hand. "I had no idea there could be a Universe with such powerful creatures.." Vegeta nods as he heads in. "It's no wonder her Universe didn't have to participate in the tournament." When they got back inside Bulla was off to school and waved goodbye to both Trunks and Vegeta.

With her gone and Bulma now busy with helping the girl it was up to Vegeta to make them breakfast. The man knew how to cook, but that didn't mean the whole world had to know about it. However he was not above at least making them something for breakfast. They were still Saiyans after all and not eating could do a lot of harm to their fast metabolism. Trunks says nothing as he watches his father. In the years following the Buu incident and the tournament of power, Vegeta had changed, a lot. While he was still the ever present grump that he was, he had taken to spending more time with his family than he used to.

Trunks never blamed his father for not really knowing how to handle family life. It was different from what he was normally used to after all. In fact he rather liked how his father could now finally seem to relax and not have to remain on guard at all times. They both glanced up when there was a knock on the door and Vegeta decides to take care of it. Vegeta hated to be bothered this early in the morning. He wasn't interested in buying anything. (Unless it was those annoying girls that sold cookies) And he had died enough times to know what was waiting for him on the other side. He opened the door and had to look down to see a young red head girl he sort of recognized.

It took him a few minutes to remember what his son was talking about the other night. This had to be Jamie and he crossed his arms at the girl. She just kept smiling at him. "Is Trunks....?" "No." Jamie blinks, surprised he didn't let her finish. "But..." "No, I have no interest in what you have to say, and I believe my son has made it clear he has no interest either." She pouts a bit, her plan not working all to well. Why couldn't Bulma had answered the door, she was a lot nicer. Vegeta knew even his son had a streak of stubborn pride, but he knew how to handle these things without causing to much damage for the boy. "I don't care why you are here, but I'm sure you can find your way back."

With that he closed the door and returned to the kitchen. Trunks heard nothing as Vegeta returned to cooking. "Another lost salesman, wish those idiots would take a hint." Trunks could only nod, not knowing what had just happened. Jamie on the other hand wasn't going to let this go, not when she had gotten so close. She moved to the other side of the complex, trying to spot Bulma. The blue haired woman could be seen leaving her lab, allowing Sara some time to figure out how to sort out her items.

Jamie makes her move and sneaks in. "Hi...Bulma, you probably don't remember me, I'm Trunks' friend Jamie." Bulma blinks for a bit, trying to remember before she gave the girl a nod. "It's been awhile, what brings you our way?" This was a lot easier than dealing with Vegeta. "Oh I bumped into him the other day at the mall, I was hoping to see if he would want to hang out, but the guy with the spiked hair scared me off." Bulma lets out a low sigh. "That husband of mine, come on.." Jamie just smiles to herself, she always got what she wanted.

Trunks was already half way through his meal when Bulma showed up with a young girl behind her. Trunks lets out a frustrated groan as Vegeta quickly got up and crossed his arms. "I told her to leave." Bulma gives him a surprised look as she stands up to him. "Vegeta would you stop scaring away our guest, honestly I thought you got over this..." While they argued Jamie made her way to Trunks and smiles at him. "Best to play along, after all fighting is so pointless." Trunks gives her a glare and stands up. "Enough!" Bulma stops as Vegeta tilts his head.

"I'm so sick of this game you keep playing, I dumped you, end of story, all you've done since is make my life Hell and now you're dragging my parents into this, I want you out of my life and stop this madness." Bulma didn't know what to say as Vegeta just sort of smirks a bit, rather proud of the boy. "You heard him, I believe you have overstayed your welcome girl." Jamie huffs and turns. "This isn't over..." She heads out and slams the door. Trunks was so relieved she left finally, but he knew deep down he still hadn't really seen the last of her.
