Chapter 8:

Dating was never Trunks' strong suit. Much like his father, he understood training. Understanding hormonal teenaged girls, was a battle field no man should go in alone. High school, was no better as he quickly learned that most girls he ran into, were just after his money. However, when he had met Jamie, she had been, different. The cute red head didn't care how much money he had and he quickly started to grow fond of her. That was, until, 'they' came along. A small group of rich uptight girls got Jamie into their little 'group'. They were the typical example of what happens when rich parents spoil the ever living hell out of their children.

They truly believed that everything should be handed to them, and when they learned that the once average girl was dating to the heir of a multi-billion dollar company, they moved in quick, telling her how he should be the one giving her everything she could ask for. He didn't notice at first, it was very little things that he didn't mind getting. Until, she started to ask for more things she had never asked him to buy her. Fancy clothes, diamond earrings, and anything else she could think of. It wasn't long before she also turned into something he just couldn't stand. A young girl who thought the world owed her everything and then some.

He broke up with her after a year of dating her, but his life didn't get any better for it. The minute he even looked at another girl after that she would quickly tell them how Trunks was still dating her and that he was often seen cheating on her. The rumor mill of high school, quickly turned against him as Jamie soon painted him as a good for nothing cheater who thought he could get any girl he wanted, because he was rich. The rest of his school year had been Hell and he was quick to change to a different school, because of the constant harassment.

However, it didn't end there, she followed him to college and he almost didn't finish, because of her. He hadn't seen her since, but seeing her now, still hanging out with the same girls as before told him that nothing had changed for her. She was still the same, self absorbed brat he hoped his sister would never turn into. He was going to bail as fast as he could, knowing her, she was still telling her little group of friends they were still a couple, and he did not wish to once again open that can of worms. There was one problem, he couldn't leave without Sara, and she had become their target quick as they moved in.

She had found something new to make fun of. Another book under the 'romance' section of the store. She wasn't sure what amused her more, the fact people enjoyed this crap, or someone out there thought it was a good idea to romanticize vampires, of all things. "Who reads this crap?" The leader of the girl was a skinny, pale thing with curly blonde hair. "I happen to like that book." "Yeah, the main character is so dreamy.." Pipes in a shorter looking lass with dyed hair. Sara just shakes her head as she didn't bother to even gaze at these girls.

Even she knew their type. The type of girls that let daddy buy them a pony to go along with the ten others they had. She hated them as well, but she was far more used to this. The third of the group, a rather average looking girl with a ton of jewelry on makes her way in. "Where did you get that dress?" That made her let out the tiniest of growls of annoyance as she puts the book down. "It's a robe, and it was either this, or the one that pushes my breast up far more than what's necessary, and I get enough guys whistle at me, I don't really need help." They didn't believe her of course.

She drops the book and bends down slightly as she turns to a poor teen who was just trying to put stuff away. "Pardon me handsome, care to help a lady pick up a book?" If the poor kid haddn't hit puberty yet, he sure in the hell did now as he hands it over, and had to clean himself from the sudden nose bleed he got. The leader was impressed with Jamie crossing her arms. "I'm Ladde, this is Mady, Nalanda and Jamie..it's always a pleasure to met someone who knows how to get what they want." Sara moves her tail slowly, these girls, it was a shame she would get in trouble using her magic.

"Ladies, there's a difference in knowing how to get things, and using your body to get things you want, I've never needed any help in any of those categories. But the vast difference between what you get and what I get, is at least it's my own money and I don't need daddy dearest to get it for me...good day ladies." She bows her head and leaves. Trunks was quick to pull her out of sight as the other girls just sit there, to stunned to talk. Sara blinks as Trunks pulls her a good distance away before not only him, but Goten, start cracking up. Goten thought he was going to pass out from laughing so much.

"That...was the best thing I've ever seen!!" Trunks soon catches his breath and nods. "Those girls have been a living nightmare, for me and Goten, seeing you knock them down a peg was just...there's not enough ice to treat the burn you gave them." She just gives them a cocky smile as she places her arms behind her head. "I'm not wrong, I've seen enough of how a person mind works when met with...well" She points to herself. "While it can get annoying as all Hell to deal with, you do learn a thing or to on how to use what you have.."

There was no argument there, but it was still the most entertaining thing Trunks had ever seen. As they left, Jamie saw Trunks and tightened her fist. Since loosing him in collage she was never really 'over' how he had broken up with her. As far as her friends knew, they were still together, but they were never the brightest bunch to start with. Still, seeing him move on, was like a challenge for her. No one deserved him, he was her puppet, and she was going to win him back one way or the other. After an hour or so the small group had made it to the large amusement park that was within the mall.

Sara had seen fairs and even a circus. (Even if it had been under an illusion) Still nothing quite compared to, this. Roller coasters, ferris wheels, merry-go-rounds, bumper cars you name it. She took her time and watched how each ride seem to work. Bulla and even Goten didn't take long to get in line for was was meant to be a 'haunted' house ride. Trunks shakes his head as he leans back. "I bet you've never seen rides like this before have you?" She shakes her head, her eyes still on the roller coaster. "It's...amazing, a chain carries it to the top and the rest is up to gravity..."

Trunks was impressed how much she seemed to understand at least the basics of how it worked. "Yeah, wow you catch on quick, would you like to try one, don't worry, I won't take you on anything to extreme." She moves slowly, unsure until something sweet catches her interest. "Oh..don't tell me.." Funnel cake, she starts to drool. "I haven't had funnel cake in ages, it's so rare back home, but it smells just as good~" He places his hand on her shoulder as he buys them some and lets her have her own. It did not survive the encounter. For once he was able to enjoy himself, not knowing not far, trouble was brewing.
