My concept of horror differs from everyone else because what might be horror for someone is not horror for me. So horror to me is…
Not a film, book or whatnot that is filled with gore. Gory scenes or whatnot does not equal horror but when it’s combine with other elements it does become a part of horror. Horror is making you scream out loud when something comes out of no where. Horror is when you know something bad will happen but you are too afraid to turn the page or keep watching. Horror is when you feel paranoid after the film or book is over. Horror is when it makes you fear the monster/villain. Horror is when it makes you scared at the possibility of whatever that happen in the film or book, will happen to you too. Horror is psychological, it should mess with your mind.
The greatest horror is those that are based on the horrors of the real world — the horrors of humanity. That alone is scary enough and it’s even more so when it’s combine with something supernatural.
