I used to know of a girl who was born blind Who was raised in a pretty normal environment I might say The typical arguing from the parents and the occassional fights from her older brother But who would of known? Little boy from across the street kept her company But tell me was all the touching necessary?
New home, new environment, one parent missing Her eyes still left blind behind her hazy world Left to play a game of truth or dare But I dare not say The girl who left the house that day Wasn't as pure and clean as the way she came
Getting older but is still unable to see That this guy infront of her is not meant to be It was just a matter of time before he would take her precious gift He rips it from her heart And stores it in his mind collection Leaving her on the bed with nothing more than a towel and her name
Her meaning of the word life was beginning to change For she found a new love that through her picture seemed real But the ugliness that was reflected off the mirror made her think otherwise It was hard to admit that her thoughts were true For the man she thought she knew Was only after that "in the bed" pleasure too
It's obvious to say that she never learned Went from the man who only wanted to see what was underneath the clothing To the man whose abusive words left her heart aching So she learned to deal with her suffering From the cold blade against her wrists That dripped the warm liquid that left her numb
Now times have changed Her hazy world gradually becoming clear Not really in a rush for she's still young She still has her scars to help her remember who she once was So the girl who was born blind Is now buried deep within my mind
