My Book Review: Same Kind of Different As Me by Ron Hall and Denver Moore with Lynn Vincent
At first I was unsure to read this book because I'm not one for reading these kinds of stories. But from the reviews I saw that many have liked it and thought I should give it a try. I admit, it was pretty interesting and I kept reading it as soon as I picked it up.
This is about Denver Moore, who was a homeless drifter that grew up picking cotton in virtual slavery in the 1960s. Ron Hall was a successful art gallery owner who had a healthy bank account but emotionally was running on empty. Although worlds apart, their destiny collided when Ron's wife Debbie insisted that Ron join her in serving food at a local homeless shelter. And from there an unlikely friendship started and it goes on to be such an inspiring story that many will not forget. It's a touching story and I do suggest others to give it a read because it sure is worth it!
