The Blazing sun beamed brightly down on the vast landscape that unfolded itself to Sorren's naked eye. The resent rainstorm had unearthed the desert's beauty. The plants had opened up and the wild life had come to greet the new day. Sorren stepped out of the rock overhang he had used for shelter from the storm. He stretched his tan muscular arm and ruffled his shoulder length black hair. He yawned and looked over his shoulder.
"Well are you coming or not?" he exclaimed in a rich voice.
"Why would I want to come with you," an arrogant voice rang in his head, "we looked all last night after our hunt. I'm tiered and don't want to go out again!"
A slick silver wolf walked out from the desert rock overhang. He stared at Sorren with pale yellow eyes. Sorren looked back at his friend.
"Suit yourself then," he said carefree like as he started to walk out into the wasteland.
The wolf looked down at the ground as if in shame.
"All right I'll go with you," the voice echoed in Sorren's head again, "but it's only because you helped my pack."
He walked alongside the young man.
"Also I don't think you could find you way out of a satchel, much less our desert," the young wolf mumbled.
"I heard that," the young man said down at the wolf, but them looked up again with a slight smile.
"So where are you headed?" the canine asked again.
"The West," the man replied confidently.
"Over the mountains to the dark side?"
"Yes."
"You think she is there and you'll be able to save her?"
The man paused for a second, "Yes, I know she is there."
"All right, I'll take you as far as I can."
They walked onward into the desert.
