“You are,” Phoenix answered, “You know how many girls would KILL for my number?”
Jules rolled her eyes, “Oh, dear Lord. How did my best friend end up the hunk of the school?”
Phoenix chuckled.
“With these dashing good looks, anything is possible,” he said with a grin as he ran his hand through his hair.
“Ugh. You are so FULL of yourself!”
Phoenix winked at Jules, “Only for you, baby.”
Jules turned bright red and she quickly adverted her gaze to her textbook.
“How about you pay attention so you don’t get into anymore trouble…” she murmured as she flipped through the pages, her face still red.
Phoenix smiled a small smile, “As you wish, Princess.”

At the end of the school day, Jules and Phoenix were walking through the overcrowded hallway.
“So you’re telling me that tomorrow I have six DIFFERENT classes?!?!” Jules asked.
“Yup,” Phoenix answered, his hands in his pockets, “Well, my locker’s this way…see you later?”
Jules smiled, clutching her textbooks to her chest, “Yeah…later…”
With a wave, Jules headed down a different hallway. Phoenix watched her until she disappeared into the swarm of students.
She’s even more beautiful than I remember, Phoenix thought to himself before shaking his head with a smile and headed off to his locker.

Jules maneuvered her way through the crowds and to her locker. Two boys were standing in front of it, one of the boys leaning against it.
“Excuse me, please,” Jules spoke up, “You’re on my locker.”
The boy looked at her through his scruffy brown bangs and moved so he had his whole back on Jules’ locker before turning back to his friend, picking up their interrupted conversation, laughing. A vein in Jules’ temple twitched.
“Listen, buster!” Jules said, irritated, “I asked you nicely! Now move your fat a** away from my locker!”
Both boys turned to look at her, a hard look in their eyes.
“Heh…please?” Jules asked weakly.
“Well, Jeremy, looks like we’ve got ourselves a rebel,” the boy that was leaning against Jules’ locker sneered, showing fangs.
Gulp! Vampires…why did it have to be vampires? Jules took a step back.
