I just want to permanently record my memorial moments about Gaiaonline, the events, the friends I made and all about this first year experiences and the months to come.
June 2008 (Nothing Special.....)
June isn't known for its events, and of course this year it was no different. Even though this is the beginning of summer for many on Gaia usually nothing special happens (besides my birthday of course blaugh ).
We only had a few updates this time so I will just talk about them so this isn't a short and boring entry:
We were greeted with another item store update with the Wild West theme, people complain that the cash shop get too many updates so this will hopefully calm them down for a while. xd
Next we had the Label Maker feature, now you can label your friends with stickers such as ''Goth'', ''Nerd'' or ''Skank'' just to mention some. There was some controversy with this one since some found it to be innapropriate, guess some people hate being called ''Emo'' or ''Fugly''. sweatdrop Anyways the feature came to stay so in a matter of days the anger died away, personally I don't find this feature to be useful or important but if my friends want to label me then go ahead. xd
Gaia added yet a new type of announcement to their collection, so far we had Kiki's Road Trip, Evolving Item Reports, Movie Monday (it seems they stopped doing this one) and Monthly Collectibles between others. Now we have the Community Spotlight, is simply a section to give recongnition to a thread, person or story. Honestly I find this to be unnecessary as well, and I don't care if this journal ends up in it neither because I don't write looking for recognition. If the rumored feature to block certain types of announcements is ever released this will be the first thing I will block.
The Gaia Cash Shop added the Faunzy's Flute, the first active item. Users who bought the flute could play with Faunzy a game of Rock, paper, scissors after equipping the item. It was one round per day and as you win you received one of several exclusive items, you could keep your winnings or push your luck and play for better prizes. The best prize was granted to those who could win ten rounds in a row, even if you lose you would still be rewarded for the effort. I would like to show pics of the game in progress but I don't spend real money on Gaia and they are too expensive in the marketplace for my taste. xp So you will have to buy one yourself (if you haven't already) to find out.
This month we also had the chance to get our Gaia Driver's License, by just answering a simple quiz we could show everyone else how responsible we are on the road, or how much of a douche we are. wink
The June letters granted us the choice between the Radiant Prism and the Black Ops Gear (guess Gaia loves Metal Gear biggrin ), after the hype of last month's items I figured this time it wasn't going to be different. Luckily I was and now the mohtly items are almost at the same average price, keep it that way vendors. razz
Well, that pretty much sums up what happened in June. Let's see what July has in store for us, sadly I may not be able to say much because from July 10 to July 31 I will be on Orlando and New York, which means no Internet probably. Anyways I will do my best to get as many pics and information about whatever happens. 3nodding
