Before, I was all about Persona.
Now I'm practically all about Gundam.
How did that come about?
Simple enough I guess. I was a little into Gundam Seed & Seed Destiny before, and while I was shopping for PS2 games, I came across "Gundam Seed: Never Ending Tomorrow". I asked for it, but the saleslady seems to be a bit sleepy, and gave me "Z Gundam DX" instead. In my excitement to play, I never noticed until I got home and it was too late. Instead of Kira Yamato and the Archangel crew, I see Kamille Bidan and the A.E.U.G. dudes instead.
Mistake or not, I got hooked. I'm halfway through the U.C. mode now, and I find myself reading up on internet references on the classic Gundam series from all over the place. Heck, I'm even torrenting a manga package that includes "Char's Deleted Affair" to better understand what the deal is between our favorite masked man in shades and Haman Karn.
Of course, I won't go as far as buying the model kits. I'm no good with those.
I remember a guy back in high school who was a total geek about Gundam. He caught on that I was into anime so he tried to strike up conversation, but I ended up getting bored to death with his deafening array of knowledge about the whole series, technical data included. If I'd gotten into this earlier, we would have been total geeks together. ^o^;;
But I guess that's just how it is. I nitpick too much, so I often get interested in these things rather late in the game.
Oh well.
Incidentally, I found a funny doujin page of Char and a starstruck Haman in junior high school. This isn't directly related to the "Deleted Affair" Chapter, but it's really priceless, Haman evading an impending hit with her Newtype abilities. I wish I knew where the rest of this comic was.
EDIT: I just found it in PDF format. It's an official CDA parody called "Lady Haman Of Axis".
