Previously on Flux's Sacred Memories:
''The Easter event is the most anticipated event after Halloween and Christmas so to all the Gaia Staff please, pretty please, NO ST. PATRICK'S DAY THIS YEAR. gonk ''
With these words I closed my last entry, and of course there was nothing left to do except let the days pass and hope for the best. The first days of March started very well, like I hoped there was no St. Patrick's Day event. The outrage of the leprechaun lovers was no surprise, however that doesn't mean the staff forgot about the day completely. They released a cash shop item called Luck of the Gairish (Get it? Gaian + Irish = Gairish xp ) which was really good, wasn't interested in it but it had neat poses.
With the cancellation of the event it seemed like Easter was going to be perfect. Remember last year's event? If you don't you can read my April 2007 entry were I ranted pretty much about every aspect of the event. Everything was horrible about it, just think about it:
- A second rate clone of the St. Patrick's Day event of March 2007. stare - Wasn't even worth of being called ''Egg Hunt'' because the eggs flew around the screen in a big shiny blue box that was impossible to miss (I would have called it ''Easter Egg Catcher''. neutral
- The event was limited, you could only get 50 eggs, after that the event was over unless you had mule accounts. burning_eyes
- The event was mind blowingly glitchy! The Towns part of the event didn't worked at all and the forums part would give you occasional error messages that stole your eggs. scream
- No effort on getting the items at all. - The items sucked! It was basically the same chicky ball in three different sizes, plus no bunny items at all. gonk
I pretty much highlighted the disaster of last year's event, but now let's go back to the present.
Everyone including me waited anxiously for the big day, with every passing second the theories and expectations were flowing, we could hardly wait. Is it here yet? surprised
Crap! The day didn't seemed to come, as if time was slowing down to a snail pace. But then, it finally came:
........ eek

Gasp! Is from the Easter Bunny! biggrin

*Clicks*

A ticking egg clock? neutral Well it was definitely different, it seemed like we were going to have an Easter Event after all. By the way well said Easter Bunny, you show them that Easter is just as important! 3nodding So the hype over the clock egg came (naturally xp ) which included the possibility of it being an evolving item, that would be awesome. biggrin The most common theory was that it was simply a time bomb that would blow in our faces, now why would the Easter Bunny do that? Doesn't he want to celebrate Easter? neutral
Oh well, sadly we would have to wait longer than we thought. It came as a surprise, there was nothing else for Easter at all. WTF? gonk Well, we had a Cash Shop update with Easter items but besides that, nothing. What was their excuse these year? Last year they said they ran out of time, which I understand because we had a parade of events close to Easter last year. However this year they skipped several of them, so if it wasn't to make an Easter event then, for what? confused Apparently they are focusing all their efforts on the Battle System, they want it to be released this year so I guess that's no big special events until then. Many of us can see they want to release it because it has been the king of ongoing delays, but why choose this time of the year for it? There are other times of the year were we have no holidays that they could have used. This was probably the biggest letdown in Gaia History. Lanzer promised an event and then we didn't get it, I guess that some communications problems need attention on the Headquarters. wahmbulance
Oh well, at least we got an item and it seems like it will have some purpose in the future according to the description. I am not going to quit, I will continue to hope for something. 3nodding
It seemed like it was over, nothing could overcome the outrage of the Gaians and the dissapointment of Easter. Strangely, there was something that marked this month as one that will never be forgotten:

That's right, you saw it coming. xd
The Cash Shop released a mysterious item called the Infinity Hat, it was equivalent to the OMG Box of last year's Christmas. However the Infinity Hat holded hats which could be store item hats, rare event hats and special exclusives like the Epic Fail Hat, YARLY Hat and the LOL Cat Halo. They looked like promising items, however people all over Gaia protested and considered it to be Gaia's biggest mistake. eek Why was this such a big deal?
Again, you guessed it. The items were based on ideas adopted (not copyrighted) by the infamous 4chan website (include 420chan, 7chan, and all the Chans you want xp ). As you might know, they hate Gaia. Back in May 2007 a website called SuBeta made a longcat item that pissed 4chan off. As a result they raided the site and at the same time attacked several Gaia accounts, the victims were users of both Gaia and SuBeta that had the same usernames and passwords. Word is that the owner of SuBeta gave the passwords away, but whatever happened it seemed like a successful raid.
Now Gaia seemed to be walking into the same dark path, quick threats of so-called 4chaners on Gaia started to fill the forums with a raid if the items weren't removed. For a few days trolls posted porn on the forums but it was no big deal, all you had to do was block them and move on. mrgreen As far as it goes, the threats and discussions about this died more each day until it was forgotten. Whether they are organizing a ''raid'' or not there is nothing to worry about. SuBeta was a website controlled by one user that probably didn't counted with all the security measures, Gaia on the other hand in a corporation with plenty of security, it can't be hacked that easily. cool Anyways, besides the porn trolls and the empty threats there wasn't anything worth panicking on.
The Easter Event letdown and the Infinity Hat scandal were the ingredients of March 2008's event. That's why I called this entry ''The Wrath of Easter'', no said event and an unnecessary panic over a raid that never happened. xd
Finally, the March items for this year arrived. We got the choice between the Wonderland and Samurai Yokoi.
Damn, my fingers are numb. Guess that's another year before we can hope for an Easter event. xp
