The month of romance, love and friendship. Sure we can express to our friends and family how much we love them any day of the year but is not everyday when you can share the love with everyone on Gaia. heart
Besides being Gaia's 5th anniversary it was time for the Valentine's Day event, which personally I don't think is necessary but if the staff can handle it then I don't mind. mrgreen
^I remember that cute little cupid from the Personals forum homepage, before it was shut down due to all the porn and cybering. xp But who the hell is the other ugly one? gonk
Anyways the event was pretty much a repetition of the kissing event we had last year, you go around the event forum kissing people and rising your score for free items. However this year had it's own differences as well.
In the page displaying our score and status of the event there was a curious letter signed by some physician I haven't heard of yet:
Who has ever heard of a disease called ''Infectious Monocleosis'' or the ''Kissing Disease''? xd I know I haven't, but I assume that kissing was the cure so it was kissing time. dramallama Between the letter and the signature there was a list of all the users who have kissed you, but I didn't included mine because it stretched a very long way down. Is not my fault that I am very attractive. cool
Anyone who joined last year's event knows how it worked. You went to the event forum pages clicking the button under anyone's avatar and.....
^Hey you being kissed by me, considered yourself honored of being in my Gaia History Journal. 3nodding As our scores went higher we got rewards that included an increasing amount of gold and three event exclusive items:
- Red Heart Glasses - Red Heart Balloon (It can change into other colors, so it should be Color Heart Balloon xp ) - Silver Heart Belt
As we kissed more people we also increased our social status from this...
to this...
That was pretty much all we could do during the event, is supposed to be nothing but a simple event that we can enjoy for the occassion. Here is my final score:
^Yeah, is my score so good for you if you did better. xp
The other big anticipated event was Gaia's 5th Anniversary Ball, hard to believe how long it has been since a group of regular guys like you and me (older, but still ordinary) joined forces to open the website that started as Go-Gaia and then changed into what we call today Gaiaonline. A forum that might be hated by some (Go to gaiaonlinesucks. com and see what I mean xp ) but loved by most, and it keeps getting bigger. blaugh
There wasn't really much of the event to expect it would be big, just a regular forum were we could chat about the never ending changes Gaia has gone through all these years. Personally, one discussion I find worth of waiting one year because it brings back some good memories (and bad too...). The event item however was a big surprise, we got Kiki Kitty Slippers. eek heart People has been petitioning for this a very long time and now we got them with the addition of a Coco Kitty Slippers pose. I remember people asking all over the place how to get the Coco slippers thinking it was a separate item, I could understand their confusion since the only way to find out was to try them. It would have been good if we had a storyline update, which was the biggest dissapointment of the event according to the majority. Still, it was good remembering Gaia again. whee
As for this month letter we received the choice between the Four Horsemen and the Magical Girl, the first one really pissed off a lot of users, so it might be considered the worse monthly item in a while, if not the worse ever. xd What do you think?
Now, you might think I am done but there is one more thing I have to talk about:
March is next, and this year the Easter event falls during this month. We all know the last Easter event sucked, besides being recycled from the St. Patrick's Day event it was extremely glitchy. This event was the product of what happens when we ask for too much, we got plenty of events before this one and the staff was left with no time to arrange a decent Easter event. St. Patrick's Day is coming up and I am sure plenty of users will beg for another event, and if you are one of them please RECONSIDER YOUR REQUEST!!!!! This year the day lands closer to Easter than last year so if the staff makes another event then is obvious Easter will suck again or worse, we might not have an event at all.
The 5th Anniversary Ball event however seems like a good signal, instead of trying to make something big they kept it simple so they must be working on bigger things. biggrin I also heard that Lanzer stated that there would be no St. Patrick's Day event this year, which I hope is true. 3nodding
The Easter event is the most anticipated event after Halloween and Christmas so to all the Gaia Staff please, pretty please, NO ST. PATRICK'S DAY THIS YEAR. gonk
Ok, I am done. See you in March. heart
