MOOOOOO! MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
Wait, isn't it supposed to be ''HO HO HO! ''? During last year's Christmas you might remember that the world's most favorite fat guy was accidentally turned into a cow because a certain Zurg alien messed up, doesn't matter how but he did. It seemed like this year Santa would be out of business, so I guess that means there would be no presents, no Christmas spirits, no nothing! gonk
Luckily we were wrong, Christmas isn't all about presents and parties. Is about spreading love, telling all your loved ones how much you care for them, is forbidden to be angry, is all about having the Christmas spirit! heart
Well, is true but we still want free stuff. xp
Gaia of course prepared for what would be the most memorable Christmas event yet:
Before the big Christmas event started, Gaia celebrated The 12 Days of Christmas. From December 12 through 24 by simply logging in we received a free event item, the items were:
Wow, how can you not be happy with 12 free items for just logging in? biggrin This would be enough, but of course if the event was just that then it would have been boring, right? Luckily this was just the beginning mrgreen :
Just like in previous years we were able to go caroling through the shops and Towns:
^As you might already know the shop owners are using last year's costumes, but since Rufus is wearing a new one I decided to re-post the pic with this addition.
We all know the drill, go to each shop and score a caroling point. After 15 carols we received one of eight spirited 2k7 items. I was surprised we just had to wait one minute, I suppose the servers must be very strong for the upcoming year. surprised
The Towns caroling although it was the same it didn't worked very well, it handed out Jack's 2k7 bags instead of the spirited items. But still we decided to keep trying in case it was fixed, but no luck. Towns had ice rinks (which has been petitioned by users for a while) and we could get snow balls to fight each other, I have never experienced snow in real life, does it hurt to get a snow ball on your face? sweatdrop :
^I have however experienced ice skating in real life, even though I fell twice it was fun. xd
Anyways, caroling in Towns was the same as well, clicking the books in front of each house until we fill the caroling meter. After that we could claim the Christmas item, or should I say Halloween. xd It was like the Nightmare before Christmas, but in a not so bad way. wink
Last year we delivered presents to each other to help Cow Santa and Alien 02, but this year the staff planned something very different and lovely:
After reporter Cindy interviewed briefly a child from the orphanage (Since when does Gaia has an orphanage?) we were told to pick orphans from the orphanage and take care of them until they were ready to be adopted:
^Look at that, Cow Santa taking a Christmas break. blaugh
This is how the event worked:
The pics speak for themselves, however in order to attend their needs they sometimes gave us clues on what they wanted:
Lung Brush Burlap Sack Carpet Swatch Hoop-N-Stick Cup-N-Ball Dr. Fantod's Sleepytime Elixir Dr. Blotto's Warmup Cure Dr. Thorpe's Bone Tonic Bucket O' Fish Heads Powdered Gruel Mix Boruff's Ratmeal Glomco Industrial Hardtack
^Some of those don't even make sense to me. xp
After helping an orphan three times they were ready for th Adoption Agency, as we helped more orphans we got more items:
You earned a Ragged Ugly Scarf, Ugly Orphan Sweater, Orphan's Elephant Doll and a Heart of Gold. Due to the event being a bit glitchy on the first days several users didn't got the last item, I am not sure if the staff will grant it to them, I guess they will have to buy it on the Market Place or not have it. xp
There were several types of orphan with random funny names:
^There they are, before and after being helped. biggrin
There are petitions going on about making the orphans an item, since they were beside your avatar while you helped them, users found this very cute and wanted to keep their orphans. heart Let's hope the staff listens and grant us this final Christmas wish.
As for the rest of Christmas I can add that the Cash Shop sold OMG boxes for the entire month, the boxes could hold any item or a mysterious Ancient Chest, those holded special items that couldn't be obtained anywhere else (Check tektek for the item list, I don't feel like posting it xp ). I don't buy cash, so I got myself one of those WTF Hats from the Market Place and one OMG Box I plan to keep unopened for future purposes. ninja Some evolving items changed this month as well, but you probably know that so I am not adding any details.
This month's letters had the choice between the Snow Witch, TM (Time Piece) and Frostbite Blade. It was a hold in my pocket if you add the gold spent on the WTF Hat, but that's what gold is for. cool
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all, it was a great year and hopefully 2008 will bring a lot of new surprises which I hope include the more than enough long waited Battle System. xp
