Alright guys i think everone has a friend that just can't seem to grow up right? Well i must say that i am no exception. Infact one my best friends in the whole world, just recently turned twenty. You would think that by now he would be slightly more mature than, let's say a 9 year old? Well apparently some guys just never mature as represented by my dear friend kai. I've known kai for YEARS, i mean i was practically in diapers when he first catapulted through my window...((long story)). In any case as long as I've known this kid, he's always had this annoying habit of Betting and i mean he bets on everything! It's like he wants to be depleted of money! You could imagine his glee when he finally turned 18 and he could legally gamble, not that he hadn't already been sneaking in with a fake id since he was 15. This is of course by the rules of other countries, i have no idea how old you have to be in the United States to gamble, but in other countries usually being 18 can get you most anywhere...15 if you happen to be a girl. In any case that's a different story completely.
Where was i? oh yeah kai's unhealthy obsession with gambling. Right, now if he had just wanted to gamble at casino's and such everything would be different! I mean don't get me wrong gambling is BAD, and he knows it but at least it's a slightly more adult thing to do i guess. But no, gambling his money away at casino's insn't enough for kai. Oh no, when i say he bets on anything. I MEAN he bets on everything. I can't take him anywhere! For example we'd be walking down the street and next thing i know he'll be like " I bet you five bucks that the next car runs the red light!" or " i bet you a quarter that the next person that walks pasts us is Asian" It's really annoying!
It was really fun when i was, oh i don't know, 6?! But know nearly 11 years later, it's starting to wear off. Still, I'm very fond of him you know, so i still go on with all his bets, heck i win good money occasionally, i don't win all the time, but i've won a fair deal. I don't really keep track or anything, it's just one of those things that come as a package deal with kai, kinda like his parrot whom he calls "Hippo" , why someone would name their parrot Hippo still intrigues me...but then again this is kai we're talking about.
In anycase he shows up at my house today, beaming, i mean positively beaming like he'd just won a thousand bucks or something! I should've known then that something was up , but of course i didn't really think of it. NExt thing i know he's slamming his hand hard on my counter and pointing at me with his index finger, and then in a loud booming voice, announces that he challenges me to a duel, and no not just any duel folks, the MASTER of all DUELS! so me being complacent as always, go with the flow and accept his stupid challenge. Which was too eat 5 bottles of ketchup and 5 bottles of mustard as fast as i could! I did in 25 minutes flat peoples. It was the most disgusting thing i've ever done, i feel awful! Really i seriously think there is something wrong with me in the brains department! In anycase, it was then my turn to challenge kai, so since he had made me eat all that disgusting stuff, i thought it was only fair that he should get an equally taxing task. I bet him he couldn't eat 32 oz of mayonnaise. Which of course he did, in 20 minutes. I must admit, disgusting as it is, i was really impressed. Seriously, what kinda of human can shove down a whole 32 oz of mayonnaise in 20 minutes?
Clearly kai beat me. I was really disappointed. So for now he has achieved The Master of All Challenges title...for now. See that's the thing about friends, especially old friends like kai, they just seem to drag you in, in whatever they do. So in the end even if some of their habits annoy you, you end up finding that some of those bad habits rub off in your own behavior.
