Michael moore.
Kill him. cheese_whine
Oh, and also, bush should be slapped with an unnaturally large surgeonfish.
...I wonder if america would actually, in all truth, be like the the empire from star wars if cheney was president overlord?

You're all going to loathe and despise me… but I was the one who voted Republican. (I'm actually more of a Libertarian by views, but I know that third parties don't actually mean much in the modern political process)
I don't hate Bush. I think he's too much of a softie- a pansy. Honestly I pity him- everyone in the country hates him, even his own party, and he's not really the one making all the decisions. (plus, this is an interesting fact I just found out- he's actually dyslexic, so that's part of why he's such a shitty orator.)
I like what happened to Michael Moore in Team America- splodey. I also think it's hilarious that Sen. Robert Byrd (I think of Virginia) is an ex-KKK Klanchief. And these are the people running our country. s**t.
Jesus wouldn't bomb anyone. He's a sweetie. God, however…

...God, however, is the sickest, cruelest, most sociopathic son of... himself you'll never meet.
Heh.
But anyhow, i lurve him so.
My party? It's in my pants. Very long ago, the republican party and the democratic party actually meant s**t; they had their own values, even if they were taboo. AND NOW, everyone is a clone of everyone else and if you're not red or blue you're apparently a communist. screw both parties; they've become popularity and pissing contests to show that stupid voters will vote on the one that most confuses them, as they think that counts as intellect (literally, on both sides).
No, a candidate I would vote for has not been seen, and I'm sure Hillary will get a chunk of the vote because people want to prove they can deal with a female president.
I CAN DEAL WITH A ZOOSEXUAL NYMPHOMANIAC HERMAPHRODITE PRESIDENT WITH VIOLENT MINI-SEIZURES IF THEY ACTUALLY STAND UP FOR WHAT THEY BELIEVE IN!
I mean, goddamnit!

Boy, Prof, you sure do seem to have a handle on the current political atmosphere.
Hillary and Obama are sure to be the frontliners, if only because, as you say, people are trying to be "brave" and prove that they're not social Luddites, and are progressive enough to welcome women and minorities (cause Barack Obama's not just black- he's like Tiger Woods- a mix of everything). As far as they go, though, the public seems to wowed by Obama's charisma to notice his weak stances on controversial issues, and it's fairly obvious that Hillary's as twofaced as they come, pandering to all the groups out there, even if those groups are at each others' throats.
The problem with the presidential elections today is precisely as you stated- none of the candidates actually believe anything they profess as their platforms.
Your assessment of people wanting to vote for the "intellectual" side is 100% tried and true. People, in general, are stupid, and want to puff themselves up like preening birds with their inflated egos- they'll use any fallacy, no matter how flawed, to make themselves appear more knowledgeable and worldly than the next John.
(on a side note, I'm concerned about the upcoming election- with nothing but a bunch of milksops (the Republican candidates) and two-faced puppets (the Democrats), there seem to be no strong choices for me to vote for. Sad, really.)

Damn straight.
Thanks for standing by me, Ralthuriel. I'm glad to see that people still care.
If only you also could cast vetoes instead of votes. It may not do anything, but at least you could hate them using a political gesture.
Ah, well. Lets just hope we don't get run into the ground and invaded by a chinese army sponsored by our own funds relocated from saudi arabia, russia and iran. X3

Well of course the candidates are two-faced and say things they don't mean, they're trying to get elected. It's what politicians do. I figure there's no way to avoid it, so instead of being mad about it I just laugh my a** off at their futile attempts to appeal as many voters as possible. A few days ago a bunch of the candidates (mainly John Edwards) attacked Clinton because they thought her shirt was too revealing because it showed a microscopic amount of cleavage. You know our government is a joke when the candidates have to resort to insults worthy of a middle school girl's locker room.

Ah, Unnormal, that's hilarious! Did they really make negative comments on Clinton's cleavage? (Hillary's, not Bill's, though he's pretty big- he's probably gout cleavage too…) That's just funny. Of course, I'd rather not see her cleavage… eww. @ Prof Alan- heh heh. I like Chinese food, but not quite that much. lolz.
Slightly off-topic but not really - I was looking through Overstock.com today and the only political joke thing they had (it's a very no-nonsense set of products there, mainly kitchenwares) was a Hillary Clinton nutcracker. you stick the nut between her legs and crack it open. Disturbingly funny, no?

Unfortunately, sex sells in an election.
Fortunately, Hillary isn't really a chick.
So, you know... maybe she'll get the drag queen vote... but only the stupid ones... who are also on cough syrup.
And have been declared legally retarded.
...Can you vote if you've been declared legally retarded? Because that's alarming...
I mean, you can obviously become the president of the united states, but can you vote?

Alas, 'tis so. Is it just me, or is Rove resigning possibly one of the funniest things that has happened this year? Instead of that speech he gave, he should've yelled "HAHA!! YOU CAN'T BLAME ME ANYMORE!!!!" then pointed at Bush and laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed and launghed and then Cheney shot him in the face.
