Does anyone know of any colleges (preferably in the US) that offer really decent archaeology/egyptology programs? I'm starting to slightly freak out the closer and closer I get to the end of my senior year, and I just need a few suggestions. Thanks!

Also, for anyone who's been in good archaeology programs, what was it like? I mean, what did you study, what was the atmosphere like, etc.

Why not ask your teachers at school or is there a website that links to all Universities/Colleges in the USA?

My counselors aren't exactly...good at helping students...kind of sad.

I've been wondering the same thing. I've been looking for Egyptology ones, specifically, and the closest one I can find to me (Washington) is California. ;_;

I actually looked up colleges that support Egyptology a while back. It was hard to find for me and there were few colleges that I found that held it and a few that specialized in them. D: I suggest googling it now, because I don't know if I'll be able to find the sites again right now. When you get some, give them to me too! I plan on taking Egyptology if my art career fails. 8D;

Usually Egyptology isn't an undergraduate degree. In most colleges you'll probably have to go for a degree in anthropology or archaeology with a focus in ancient Egypt, and then graduate work for an Egyptology degree.

That being said, there's plenty of colleges with excellent archaeology courses. A few of the more famous ones are the Univ. of Chicago, Boston Univ., and Cornell Univ. They're expensive, though xp

Brown University not only offers a major in Egyptolgy, but has an entire department devoted to the study. Once again however, expensive and highly selective. I hope to go there. sweatdrop
