Especially the Square Soft/Square Enix games. Final Fantasy VII and Secred of Mana are my favourites. I still love all my old Nintendo game too.

I like all sorts of games but am partial to fighting games and fast paced action games myself. I like RPG's but I don't play them that much. I think the last one I actually finished was Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Right now "The Darkness" is keeping my PS3 warm until Ninja Gaiden Sigma arrives to consume all of my time in a week or so. xp

I must be really showing my age, cause I still play SNES and N64 sidescrolls. My daughter is a PS2 fan, she likes FF type games, whereas I stillplay Mario, Bubsy, DK and the like. someone get me my walker!

The first video games I ever *really* played were Super Mario Bros. 3 and Donkey Kong Country, but since then I've really developed a love for RPGs. FFVIII was my first love. While everybody was still raving about VII, I was practically drooling over the ridiculously angsty lives of Squall, Rinoa, Quistis, Seifer and all the rest. Plus, duh- gunblade. >.< So amazing. But then Square Enix (then just Square, I guess) pretty much can't be beat when it comes to beautiful designs and innovative character development ideas (like the junction system, for instance).
Annnyways- since then I've fallen for other fantasy-type RPG games like the Suikoden series, Kingdom Hearts, Grandia, Star Ocean, Xenosaga, and of course the rest of the Final Fantasy series (minus IX, which I could never really get into).
What I think is so appealing about these games is that, to me anyway, it feels like you're literally stepping into a book. The time it takes to develop characters and unravel their stories helps make it that much more rewarding when you've finally completed it. ^_^

I really like simulation and strategy games. I don't really like puzzle games, though, they frustrate me. Action games can be fun, too. But I'd say simulation games are probably my top favorite because I'm addicted to the Sims and was, for many years, addicted to Rollercoaster Tycoon. redface

I had to say everything although that's not exactly true. I'm not a big fps fan.

I love Rock Band and Guitar Hero. We have Rock Band parties from time to time and it is a blast getting together with friends and playing.
I also like Simulation games, like Ace Combat and Blazing Angels. Flying games rock! I liked the Godfather game, too.
I am an old school gamer, though. I still like my NES and SNES to kick it old school with. blaugh

Give me an RPG, a three day weekend, and enough pizza to feed a small batallion, and I'm in heaven.

Where's the love for the FPS? I like my RPG's I've played the majority of the FF's. I really only get into one good racing game per console generation (this one is burnout, last was F-Zero GX). Puzzle games are always good, Action keeps my interest (oh Link, go save the Zelda), and of course Street Fighter (CapSnk2 being my forte) sits along side Age of Empires. It's been a while but I was an MMO addict and a guitar hero expert. But when I'm just looking to kill time and have a little fun... well nothing beats hopping online and racking up head shots in about any FPS you care to name (COD4 being my game of choice as of late).
Though I'd have to say that my favorites are RPG/FPS hybrids. Bioshock, Elder Scrolls and Deus Ex: Invisible war all come to mind.
