This morning the SSBB website updated with the long awaited controller scheme. What is it? Maybe Wiimote sideways, Numchuck and Wiimote, Classic Controller, or GCN. Well it is actually ALL! Yes that is right you can use any of those. What do you think you will use the most when it comes out?

Well, that's lovely that they have not one, but FOUR settings! This means nobody can possibly complain...but oh will they... stare

I'm betting that most people are going to end up using the GCN controller as their controller of choice. Although, I can see some advantages that the Wiimote-Nunchuk might have. I don't know about the other two setups though.

It's really gonna come down to how the game plays; how close it'll be to melee (or how faraway from melee it will be). I.e. Air dodging, wavedashing (if it's in it), dodging in general, smash attacks, etc.
While I'm not here to start a "Wavedash/pro is better than you" war, I'm just saying, for me, that's what it will depend upon.
Although, I am gonna try every controller style when it's out (I have all four controllers, why not try them out. biggrin ).

I can see having access to both the jump and B button at the same time on the Wiimote-Nunchuk making things like double shining and SHDL much easier.

I think if its comfortable, I might try out the wii-remote style. I think its easier to wear out the control sticks than a D-pad.

Gus287 I think if its comfortable, I might try out the wii-remote style. I think its easier to wear out the control sticks than a D-pad. On the contrary. Have you ever seen the inside of a controller with a d-pad? Even if it's a ps2 controller, those will wear out a lot faster than a control stick will. It's basically a little pressure pad under the buttons. Same thing for your A, B, etc buttons. While a control stick will lose tension, it can still work a little longer than a "rubbed" out d-pad.

The main thing on the Wii is the wii-motes and nun-chuk so... why would you want to use the GC controller?

If it is what you're used to, that's just that much less you have to get used to. In addition, SilentBlackTiger is right. I've actually worn out a controller's buttons before. Underneith them are simple rubber pads that'll wear our far before the springs in the Control sticks.
I'd be willing to try any mode that isn't the Solo-Wiimote mode. Problem is that I'd rather not spend money on a Classic Controller that I'll only be using on old games. The Gamecube controller is more likely to be used in future games and it is what I'm used to using so I'll end up playing with it. This isn't to say that I won't try the Nunchuku/Wiimote mode though. It might be an easier mode to play with since the shoulder buttons feel more comfortable in that mode.

I don't think anyone will be using the tilted wii style for this one. Most likely people go for the controller they were used too, and some may use the classic for the sheer challenge of it.

ill most likely go for the gc controller rather than the wii remote due to the lack of buttons on the wiimote.

I think I'm going to use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk style and if I don't like it I'm going to switch to GameCube controller.
