Ok me and my brother are in a fight over whether my STRATEGY is just cheap or is actually a strategy... My STRATEGY as marth is to get the person close to the edge and then knock them off the edge. My brother says this is just cheap and starts getting all pissed when i do this. So please help me settle this fight and tell me which it really is.

Tell your brother he's a moron, and that "knocking him off and keeping him off" is the WHOLE POINT OF THE GAME. stare
Watch the "How to Play" video. It tells how to keep them off.

I heard Shiek is actually supposed to be Marth's "counter". I'd say it's fairly even, but hey, if it gives him an extra edge, he should go for it.

That's not even a strategy! That's the whole point of the game! That's what I do with every character I play as! I rack up damage, get them close to the edge, knock them off, and then prevent the from getting back on! That's what everyone does! And if you don't do that, then please tell me what game you're playing, because it shouldn't be Smash Bros.
Tell your brother he's a whiny baby.

How old is your brother, because if he's older than five he shouldn't be griping and whining. tha'ts the point of the game. Tell him to use Kirby or Jigglypuff.

From what I hear, the most favourable position a Shiek could be in a Shiek versus Marth game is to be underneath the Marth. I'm assuming because it leaves the Marth open to all sorts of things, like F-tilt juggle, U-air juggle, and F-air finish.
