In my opinion Garth Nix is one of the most brilliant modern authors, his books are all among my favrites, and i am currently deep int the keys to the kingdom series. other things he has written include the Abohorsen series, shades children, the rag witch, across the wall, and one series abuot 7 towers,or somesuch(i havent read this series yet)

I've read the first of the 7 Towers books, and the first of the Abhorsen books, Sabriel. I like them all, and want to read the rest of them.

I love Garth Nix!
I have to say that theAbhorsen series was y favorite, but I like the book Sabriel the most! The Seven ZTowers were really good as well...
Shade's Children, on the other hand, kinda creeped me out...

I love his books.
When I was a kid I couldn't even watch Poltergeist, but I still was able to read through an entire novel of his and not even have nightmares. He is incredible.

He is brilliant author. I've read 2/3 of the Abohorsen trilogy. I loved the frst two, but the first chapter really downed me, so I haven't finished the third yet.

the first book i read of Garth Nix was the SEVENTH TOWER series, and unknowingly, and rather obliviously, i picked up the second book. I read THAT one first, realized there was six other parts to it and got really excited....that year, I used my Barnes and Noble gift card to buy all the other individual books in the series....how peeved now I am knowing that they've published the entire series in either two or one volumes...but I loved the idea of having a shadow spirit, kinda like a daemon from HIS DARK MATERIALS series but not really. I read those books so long ago, more than once, but I think my Mom lately sold them in a yard sale we had last summer sad Oh well. Libraries are good...I still have his Abhorsen trilogy, and LOVED it, of course! Does anyone know of Nix's most recent works? I've been so long out of the loop lately, and reading the Fareseer and Liveship trilogy Books by Robin Hobb...books I'd recommend to anyone, of course....uh-oh, I'm rambling again....sorry for the length!!! But those are my thoughts! smile

Oh don't worry about the first chapter! Just keep reading! I have read basically all of his books. Garth Nix is definetly one of my favorite authors. I really hope he gets that last keys to the kingdom book done.
