Hey everyone, I have a question, maybe you can help!

The last couple of days, I have been getting spammed with private messages.

They all have the exact same avatar... but are all from different people, most of them with names like "24y2v84s2k19m58a7f" or something.

The messages subject always says "Hello" and the body of the message always just says "hi."

I've been getting up to 5 or 10 a day! ACK!

I was going to report it to TOS/Mods, but it didn't really fall under the reporting guidelines, since every message is coming from a different account and it's not really hurting anybody except I have to delete them over and over. ;__;

Any suggestions?

Has this been happening to anybody else?

That seems like botting to me. I'm glad I don't get those.

I would REPORT them.

I think you should report them -it definitely sounds like botting, and the official gaia peeps might be able to find out who they are trading to and do something about it? I don't know....it can't hurt to report though!

I just got another one and I reported it. I hope it's okay to report, it didn't really seem to fall under any of the right categories, but I reported it as suspected botting.

Definately report them. And set your PM's to "friends only" for a while. Even if it is not a botting program, it is still considered spam and is reportable.

The same type of thing is happening in the avatar/house/art arenas... the same 'girl' is commenting on entries over and over and over.

I got a few more of those PMs today.

Look at this example:

See? Row after row of the same girl and same comment and etc... just different unpronouncable avatar name.

I think I probably got on that PM list from commenting in the arenas for gold as I do. xD But, I don't know why anyone would keep PMing since it doesn't make you gold anymore, it's kind of pointless.

I agree, it's worth letting the mods and admins know, so they can track em down and stop it.

They definitely swamp the avatar arena, which makes me wonder what they're voting and how that affects the final vote, ya know?

i doubt they vote. it seems like a gold retrieving bot, nothing more. and the more names there are, the more gold they get. all they have to do is make trades with their original personas and bam! instant gold
