Well as I have told everyone I live in Kansas. A massive tornado struck last night at 945 and took out Greensburg. We have family there, they have all been found alive. One uncle suffered a broken hand, an aunt had cuts and bruises. They lost their house, along with a cousin who lost her house.

I live in the southern end of tornado alley. I know how you feel up there. I live in Texas.
I have family up in northeast Kansas and near Kansas City, MO. They are not near that town, but there's not much that can be done when faced with a mile wide vortex. Just have to try to bunker down. I'm glad so many people lived, but also sad about the deaths, of course.

I live in Dallas. It would take like a F4 tornado to get through the density of this city.
I myself, have always had an extreme fear of tornadoes/bad storms.
Well, a couple of weeks ago, I was in my evening class..enjoying a quiet time working on my projects..
When loud sirens start ringing throughout our city. So they force us down into this basement built for two people with about fifty people. (Not many people take night classes at my school.) Needless to say my personal space was invaded ..but I met some new people.
We stayed downstairs hearing the creaking and crap outside. It was scary!
If I were to have had to go through the same stuff you did..I think I probably would have passed out from sheer shock.
I'm sorry for your lost home, I'm happy everyone is safe though!

Yipes!
Where I live we almost never have tornados, but if there's any chance of them at all I turn into a bumbly crying mess and go hide in the basement!
I'm glad you're okay Sydney but I'm sorry about your family's losses sad

well they make history by being the first to be classified on the new scale, at an EF 5 3 years ago the county I live in got it pretty bad. Just pull together and rebuild. At least here it was mostly farm land torn up, not the entire town.

Tornados are no fun at all. Just last year less than 2 miles from where I live and work one hit a big shopping area. The really scary think is the alarms didn't go off at all. Now they go off all the time. So we are getting to the point where we dont' believe it. Over all it's a no win situation around here.
I think I heard about that on the local news tonight. I was only half listening though because I was at work.
Glade to hear that your family got out of it ok Sydney.
