I feel younger than 21, often. Maybe it's the fact that I have no self-confidence. Maybe it's the fact that I need attention, affection, and relaxtion/play to make me happy.
I don't know what I'm supposed to be like as an adult, but it scares me that I never, ever feel like one. Is anyone else having a similar identity crisis?

well, i feel younger than 28.(though the aches and pains say otherwise) and let me tell you. there's nothing wrong with feeling younger. i myself though something was wrong with me. but what you need to do is instead of wondering why you don't feel your age, embrace it. as long as you are able to deal with the responsibilities of being an adult, there's nothing wrong with being a "kid at heart". as far as self confidence is concerned, why be bothered by what others may think? as long as you're happy with your life and your decisions, then why question it?

I usually say my mental age varies. sometimes I feel like an old man, sometimes a stupid teenager, and sometimes the inner child cries out. rarely do i feel like i am actually 26 though

I feel just about right.... until I move or act in some way and my body falls off. sad I don't think my being should hurt so often. ...but I guess it's really nothing major. I just remember running without hurting myself. I'm 23 and I walk everywhere. Why can't I run!? (V) ( . .) c('')('') I love this bunny, btw.

Same here. But honestly, I'm not bothered. It's a lot more fun to be a kid than an adult!
If I could, I'd go back to being a kid and stay that way forever.

Hmmm...
Don't feel bad, I think it's healthy! So many 'grown-ups' are so boring and uninteresting to me.
Not that I'm saying it's good to be immature. Even children can be mature.
There's a difference between "child-like" and "child ISH."
Personally, I think being childlike is healthy and wonderful. Children always have open hearts and open minds and are ready to learn and experience and grow. If more "adults" could be that way, the world would be a much better place.
I never want to grow up. =3
I'm 27, but seriously, I don't feel a day over 15 or 16. razz Though, I can't stand to be around teenagers, I still feel like one.. but I was pretty "square" for my age anyway.. and most people think I still am! sweatdrop

I feel younger than 21 because I can't seem to find my way out of this school-and-hourly-wages purgatory. It's like I'll never leave my parents' house! I've been in school for four years and I have so little to show for it. sad

I feel like my age although I'm mistaken for someone younger (teenager). Just because you need affection doesn't mean you're a child. If you need constant attention and it affects other people and not attention in a good way then yes that could be childish. Playing games are not childish either, besides if you can't have fun you age faster.

I'm 29, and sometimes people think I'm 19. Sometimes it's good, other times it's not so good. Then there are those who think I'm older than I am, 35+. Meh... whatever...

Growing up I had to be older (Between my appearence and my family), and I was even looked upon by my communitee as an adult very early. Since I've joined the Navy, I've slowly gone backwards and have become more of a kid, good and bad, but mostly good. Its not always a bad thing to be younger in any way, mind body or whatever. Now, as to finding yourself, give it time. I thought I had and now I'm back to square one. Confidence, I share that burden to, as in the lack of. Find something you know you're good at and stick to it, pride yourself in it, and don't doubt yourself. Theres light at the end of the tunnel, hang in there.

I know who I am and what I am. I know what I want to be and where I want to go. Yet I feel, at 21, I am unable to do it. I was sheltered. I want to assert my sovereignty over myself, but I am too dependent. That's what scares me. I feel relatively powerless.
As for appearance some people mistake me for 23 or so. Others think I'm 16. I think I look like the latter...
