Here's my latest horrible kid on Gaia story, because we never get tired of them:
So I was doing some voting in the Avatar Arena, and usually I leave a cheery comment when I see one I like, and vote somewhere between an 8 and a 10. I usually won't vote if I think their Avi is teh total suck, I'll just skip it.
So I came upon this kid.. who had a fairly nice avatar, and his screen name referenced a popular anime character.
Well, he didn't SAY he was supposed to BE that anime character, but everyone assumed that's what he was going for, and I admit, if that's what he was going for, then it really didn't look like the anime character, but with the items you have on Gaia, I mean, seriously, you're not going to look exactly like an anime character, copyright issues and stuff. razz
Anyway, otherwise his Avi was pretty good, and I had no problem giving him a good score. I started reading the comments, and everyone was SOOOO MEAN. They were like "OMG U LUK NO TINGK LIKE HIM 1/10!" and "ThIS IS TeH WORsT AVi I EvAR SEeN" and crap, and I felt really sorry for the kid.
So I said something like "I think your avi looks nice, so I'm giving you a 10 just because people are so mean." And I did.
Anyway, a while later, I got a PM from the kid thanking me for being nice and for leaving him a nice comment and giving him a 10.
"Awe, how sweet," I thought, and sent him back a PM thanking him for replying to my comment.
Next message:
Hi thx culd u plz donat e me 7000 gold plz its just 4 me & my gf.
WHAT?
NO!
At the time I didn't even have 7000 gold!
Humph. So I just deleted it. He can fend off meanies in the Avi arena by himself now.

well, when i did the arena thing last week, i got a lot of negative comments. of course, i egged them all on because i kinda had a noobish entry but the comments went from "worst avi i've ever seen" to "you should just die" to my personal favorite " that is so lame n you suk dik"... i had to respond to that one. i told her to come at me with something more than what my 10 year old brother can come up with. she apologized. i responded " way to go belly up there. you've really outdone yourself. now perhaps you'll think twice about it before you comment like that on a public avatar arena." ever since, she's been sending me a pm saying sorry every day lol

I can't believe he did that! I HATE begging....I often give random donations, but the second someone asks me for gold they ruin their chances. If you are questing, make a thread, or put it in your sig -that's how I know what to give people....

I have given stuff to people before, but only if they didn't ask for it! rolleyes

I find that silly (and a bit rude) when people do that.
I mean, just because I defend someone or am nice, doens't mean I want to be best friends and start donating. xd

Heres mine:
I was selling my pandy pack on the marketplace and this kid PMs me asking me to give him the pack. Misspelled every word in it to, couldn't use proper grammar, punctuation or anything. I PMed him back telling him that I don't donate my things to people I don't know and I especially don't give them to people who can't even spell simple words. His response? "Sheesh, what are you? like 25?"
Actually I'm 22, but I didn't tell him that.

i have to admit, i have to stop being so generous, but i will only donate to those on my friends list. havent really had anyone abuse me yet, but yeah, some of the comments i have seen from them, especially in replies to threads on forums have been pretty ordinary to say the least

I have to add this one. I am constantly getting request to donate to some random person who PM's me wanting me to donate gold. What I usually do is look to see if they have a wish list and then I try to get something from there. I did that once and i got a PM back saying thank you but that is not what I wanted. So why have a wish list of items that you don't want? And the younger generation and there spelling drives me nuts.

Actually, I must say that I simply allow it to roll off me.
Its not like that can actually do anything or more than Ii already have.
I choose to look at all in a positive manner.
What one gives the world comes back to them.

It troubles me when others ask for donations because I don't have much myself, and these people often have elaborate avatars and probably have more gold and resources than I. Not to be selfish, but I'd rather use the gold I do have on me than some stranger with chutzpah. As for friends, I don't have much, but I do try to give them things. I make bouquets or get them something moderately priced at shops I see on their wish lists. If I did have a lot of stuff, I might be less of a miser, but I think it's a matter of decency and courtesy. Begging from random people, especially those who use that lame netspeak in a failed attempt to be cool, is just bad form.

i had some girl offer to sell me full nude pics of her for 1200 gold. i laughed and told her no... so she asked me to just give it to her then. but i guess this is the price i pay for having almost 300k in sales on the marketplace. they think i'm rich or something.

well here's another. a kid bought a sword of aegis from my store. i always send a letter thaning them for shopping at my store. this kid responds back with "you should give me demonic anklets." i told him i'd put some in my store for him and he replied "no, just give them to me." when i told him that i don't just 'give' things to people, he started verbally abusing me. add another to the ignored list, i suppose...
