I find botting to be the admittance you don't care enough for the game, you're just caught up in the item rush.

Kinda like Neopets. And lord knows Neopets is for winners.

In the clan I am making, I had to come to grips with stuff like this. The main issues I had to think about were:

-hacking
-scamming
-maphacking
-botting

I decided that there was no way in Hell I could compromise on hacking and scamming; those are grounds for immediate dismissal.

However, I have to (reluctantly, oh, how very reluctantly) allow maphacking and botting. Even though I warn everyone I come across who talks about it that maphacking and botting is liable to get your account banned (and I make such resounding warnings with the clan, as well), I can not exactly stop them. And even a few of the best members of the clan maphack, though I will not say which.

I will say that both the leaders *Red-Undead and I abhor maphacking and botting because we think that it cheapens the game; are you so damn lazy that you can not spend an extra minute to find the passage to the next area or the Cairn Stones? What, you do not want to run through the Underground Passage? Okay, no one does. I hate that place. That is why I ask someone for the ********' waypoint.

Nope, you guessed wrong. We are a new clan, but certainly not a noob clan.

The average play experience for all of our members is 3 years, but many are 4 years experienced and a few have been with Diablo II since it came out. A few people have even come to Diablo II after playing Diablo.

After speaking with our members, we found that none of them maphack anymore, and although they had used it at one point or another for whatever reason, they no longer do. The majority of us share the attitude where we dislike maphacks and bots due to its negative effect on the game.

And if anyone was a newbie in our clan, they would be welcomed with open arms and taught the ins and outs of the game, because we also like to help make people better players.

So, not a noob clan at all. biggrin

Are you asking me, or asking about my clan? We do not duel specifically as a clan, but there are a few who can partake in the practice.

Personally, I do not really enjoy dueling, but I can usually hold my own and defend myself rather well.
