So I had this dream awhile back where i was in a Castle, and it was a lot of fun.
So I was thinking about a castle rp. Not serious historical rp (which is beautiful-- but very time consuming!!). Rather, a Castle with all the Archtypes straight out of fairy tales-
A King
A Queen
A Princess
A Prince
A Court Jester
A Magician
Maybe the Occasional Dragon
A Couple Knights
So I want to start a new rp in the rp forum. Anyone Game? I am calling dibs on playing the court Magician. I have a love for magicians and want to play a young woman who takes up the craft (a slight deviation from the tradition, but I'll keep it true otherwise, I promise smile ). Who would be interested and which archetypes of a feudal/fairy tale court would you like to play?
Plus, setting will be easy to figure out-- A Castle in a Kingdom far away!
Mind you it would just be good old fashioned fun.

Also... you know what they called female magicians in fairy tales...? Witches. LOL

That sounds like fun! blaugh If I only had slightly more time I'd love to RP; but if you don't mind me being on and off certain times I'll play. I'd like to be the court jester or princess. Either one as I'm very comedic, but I can role play as a princess. 3nodding

It sounds like a great idea for a role play -that said, they really aren't my thing. I'd love to see that forum being used though, I always feel sad about it because we have so many people in the guild who love RP!

Some basics about RP for anyone who's new and considering joining but isn't familiar with text rp:
NPC- Non player character, we will have quite a few of these for various servants, peasants, guards, rival kingdom soldiers, etc... etc...
IC- In character smile
OOC- Out of Character
Yes, female magic users were traditionally called witches emo But I am going to deviate a little from the norm here. Plus, I think it might be humorous to have Merlin's long lost Niece (yes... where did Merlin get siblings? Well if everyone IRL claims to be related to someone famous--so can someone in character! biggrin ). The question will be... will she also age backwards through time?
Anyway for those interested here are some things we need to post before we begin (pretty simple stuff):

My Char:
Name: Merle Lynn
Age: 20 (green horn)
Physical Description: Eyes that appear to be Violet in color, long brown hair that is often braided and kind of messy. Her frame has curves (more hips than bust-alas!), but she's she's by no means over weight. Her skin is somewhat pale because she doesn't get out as much as she should. She's often clad in hand-me-down robes and a patchwork "Wizards" hat.
Occupation: Magician/Wizard!
Abilities: Off the wall spells that sometimes go awry. People into animals, animals into people, politicians into potted flowers, those sorts of things. Not very strong physically, but cunning mentally.
History: At a very young age Merle's eccentric grandfather, Bongo the Magnificent Lynn, magician in the court of Duke Wellington, told Merle the exciting story of their ancestry of none other than the famous Merlin of Arthur's court. Naturally, being a kid, Merle fed into this silly hoax and took it to heart. Although she was a girl she was fascinated by magic, books, potions, the like! Oh, how she was teased. Although it is the feudal era and most women are married by 16-17 easily, at 20 Merle is still single. She's been tried as a witch on many occasions, but her magic always seems to save her (course if she goes back they'll REALLY burn her!). Eccentric like her Grandfather Bongo, she brings with her a lot of spunk and heart.

Char Name: Captain Luthor Volkmar
Char Age: Lates 30's-early 40's
Physical Description: Often seen clad in gleaming plate armor crafted by the finest smiths, Captain Volkmar is an imposing man of 6'3 with a warrior's build and a stern expression on his clean shaven, but battle scarred face. He has very close cut black hair with gray eyes and his chest plate has the symbol of his order carved into it (a downward pointing sword in the middle of a sun). He often carries a war hammer in his hand and a two handed sword across his back, swtiching between the weapons when he feels the need.
Occupation: Captain in the Knightly Order of The Blade of Dawn.
Abilities: Skilled fighter, horseman and tactician. His armor and weapons are subtly marked with runes that are resistant, but not completley immune, to some forms of magic.
History: The son of one of the King's Dukes, Luthor and the order to which he belongs have long been loyal servents to the king. Having fought (and won) many battles against the state's enemies, Luthor is renowned throughout the kingdom as a hero, but he often shows humility, stating that the men under his command are every bit as responsible as he is. Until he is called into service, he can be found atop his loyal war horse, Tornado, leading his men in patrol of the kingdom's borders.
Other Info: His second in command, Ludwig Wilhelm, is often seen at his side.

Char Name: draven ragnok
Char Age: appears to be in the early 30's, but is fabled to be much older
Physical Description: a man of great stature, standing roughly 7 feet in height and extremely muscular, with long raven black hair blowing in the wind. carries two large broadswords... one in each hand, clad in cloth and leather, covered in battle scars, always seen with a falcon perched atop his massive shoulder when not in battle, large tribal tattoo across his entire upper back
Occupation: foot soldier, handyman
Abilities: extremely skilled swordsman, appears to be able to speak to animals
History: not much is known about this strange man. he was found 10 years ago by an elderly couple, severely wounded and near death, by the river near the kingdom. they helped the man to their cottage and helped him recover. the injuries he sustained caused him to lose almost all of his memories. he knows his name and that he's not from the kingdom and that's it. ever since he recovered, he's been a handyman around the kingdom. he joined the army as a foot soldier. he has saved the army from suffering great losses, but is unable to be knighted due to the fact he doesn't carry noble blood, nor was he born in the kingdom.
Other Info: he refuses to wear armor because it slows him down. some say the falcon gives him a bird's eye view of the battlefield. and rumors fly around the kingdom that he is the last of the great warriors of the plains people, who were known for their ability to speak to wildlife and were killed 11 years ago.

but we still need a few people to join up. i think that the more people we have, the more interaction with each character, and the more fun it will be.
