Hi
I'm looking for the Kanji and also the Japanese for the following words
Fire
Water
Earth
Air
-----
I think I know what three of them are in Japanese (from a friend)
Fire - Hi
Water - Mizu
Earth - Tsuchi
-----
But still don't know the Kanji's for them
Thank you for all who help
^_^

Fire - 火
Water - 水
Earth - 土
Air - 空気

The last one may be wrong. I searched it up at altavista.com. The rest I know are right, though.

Well, for the elements and most words, there are actually two ways of writing them in Hiragana. For example:

Fire can be either 'Hi' or 'Ka'.
Water can be either 'Mizu' or 'Sui'
Earth can be either 'Tsuchi' or 'Do'.

If you look at the days of the week, they're based on the elements and they use the other way of writing it. For example: Suiyoubi which means Wednesday is written like this 水日 (at least, I think so o.O).

The closest thing I can think to 'air' is 'kaze' which means 'wind'. I searched up air, so I have no idea how to write it in hiragana XD But kaze in kanji is 風.

I couldn't really help much, gomenne! (sorry).

Yo_Landa got the kanji for air correct. Its the type of air you would just say air to, not oxygen.

It is also the same word for air as in airport (kanji wise)

Air~kuu ki 空気

Airport Kuukou

Kansai Airport (Osaka)~ Kansai Kuukou 空港

I wish I could show you the kanji so you can definetly see what I mean...but there you go on pronunciation.

*edit: did it work? can you see what i typed?
