Thanks to Pearl for stickying this. Post Projects here, things that are in progress but you need more encouragement, ideas, help or just wanna show off before its done biggrin edit: somehow I unstickied this? The big unveiling! My first shirt. My amazingly bad shirt :O this is basically from a G&L bible scan, but the measurements are entirely my own doing, mostly just copied around a shirt that was close (bad bad, lazy me)
As you can see, the front and back bottom edge dont line up, there is no opening or fastening way, and by gum if you could see the sleeves, you'd faint >_<
But, its sewn, at least I got the tension right ^_~ I prefer making skirts, plus they involve lesss button holes which im yet to work out.

Sure, I'll sticky this. I'd been considering a thread like this, but there weren't enough active people in the guild until about a week or two ago.
I prefer skirts to making tops. The only kind of top I really enjoy making is a cutsew, or t-shirt. I hate making blouses that have to button.

If you edit the first post, it will become unstickied, since you're not a mod. Don't worry about it, if I see it unstickied, I'll resticky it. You can always pm me about it, too. Well, I have some projects to share. First, a replica of VM that I'm working on. The brand photos: Oh, and a skirt I've been working on for a while. Nearly done, too. Old version: New version: And, finally, a pleated skirt that I'm thinking of converting into something similar to a Beth design. (It was originally a sheet.) Brand photo: That's it, for now.

And outfit made from a pattern in Gosurori (I believe Vol. 6). It looks like it could be floor length, but it's actually only knee length for me xd I've since added the sleeves, and one cuff, and I accidently got wired ribbon from the store, but I work with it. I also may have to re-do all of the purple body pieces, because it's not fitting like I had hoped @_@ Magazine picture:

My Red Dress in Progess (it's currently further along than this, but I don't want to put it back on the dressform) 0102Vaguely inspired by this dress by Mary Magdalene (clearly, without eht ruffles), and a means of testing out a pattern that I made. I wanted to try it out with a more simple fabric that I could replace if needed, before I made it in a blue floral, since I bought the last of the bolt. I also had already made the strawberry hat linked to below, and wanted a summery red dress to wear with it. 3nodding I will be making a multitude of headwear for this, including a simple small bow on a red headband, a larger bow for the back of my hair, a smaller bow clip, a more traditional headdress, and then I already have this hat done. Possibly a miniature tophat, if I get over my loathing of wiring buckram.

Wow, Cryrin, that blue fabric is a perfect choice.
My white dress is further along, and almost to the point where it's lined, but I think I'm going to start my blue polkadot dress first, because it should be a really quick dress to make, and I'm a little tired of sewing and pinning ruching.

PearlZenith Wow, Cryrin, that blue fabric is a perfect choice. I could not have been more happy when I found that in the bin of fabric that was being cleared out of the store, and when I realized that it was the perfect amount for a dress. Blue has to be one of my favorite colors to work with, so it's sad that it's so hard to find a good floral on a blue background.

I don't have batteries for my camera at the moment - D= - so I'll just try and describe the skirt I'm making. It's made of nice, swooshy, black fabric with small, brightly colored flowers on it which remind me of flowers painted on certain pieces of furniture at Fort Ross. If you've ever been there, you probably know which ones I mean. If you haven't ever been there, go. Now. I don't care where you are, just get on plane. XD Back to the skirt. It's almost done, I just need to add the elastic waist and trim the edge with some pretty lace that'll go wonderfully with it. I plan to make a big floppy bow out of leftover scraps. Anyone got any ideas of what else I could make with scraps? I have some pretty big scraps - not big enough to make a blouse or anything though. Anyway, I'm scared of sewing anything with sleeves. My mum, bless her buttons, helped me with pinning, measurements, made the pattern (it was her first time making a pattern and, with her awesome logic and math skills and large supply of wrapping papper, did abrilliant job), did most of the thinking, and explained everything. I did sewing, cutting, and making her tea and fetching her things while she worked on the pattern. XD

If anyone here is familiar with Folkwear? ( http://folkwear.com/ ) I'm starting work on an altered version of the Edwardian Wedding Gown. The original pattern is on the 'Romantic' page if anyone wants to see it. I'm shortening the skirt and possibly messing with the volume of it. All that lace insertion is going to be a lot of fun. 3nodding It will probably be sort of ivory-white/pale pink.
