So we finally pulled in last night. Our homeport, beautiful San Diego. I got to catch up with a few friends. Two days before we pulled in, I was even presented with a nam. Wow, is there a lot to fill you all in on. But I'm back, so how is everyone?

Well, after the commisioning in Miami, we headed out. Only a couple of days out we rescued a poor guy stuck out in the middle of nowhere with rough seas and no gas. After returning him, we headed back out only to have our tasking change, and just float around for a little while. Tracked Air Force One, that was kinda cool. Got a port visit in Aruba for all they were putting us through. Gotta love our Captain. A stop in Colombia, then Panama as we crossed the canal. Before we got home we did another rescue fro a fisherman who was injured when one of his nets broke. Just before we pulled in, I was stopped in the Pway. "Countryman! Why aren't you in your utilities!"
"Do I need to be?"
And returned in a gruff voice,"Get in a clean and well pressed pair and be on the flight deck at 1530!!!"
I thought I was in trouble. When I wasn't the only one out there I was a little relieved. They called everyone to attention, and the Captain approached those in utilities. I got a nam (Navy and Marine core achievment for those who don't know). Now that was exciting.
