Heh, i've looked around alot, and i can't seem to find out what 'hey' is in Japenesse. Moshi Moshi is hello when you answer the door, or phone, and O hayou gozaimasu, konnichiwa, Konban wa, and Oyasuminasai are all good morning, afternoon, evening and night, bu8t i just can't find hello, or hey, or hi. Please help sweatdrop

Hmm...if a remember correctly, "Oi!" would be the Japanese equivilant of 'Hey!' And "Ossu" Would be the equivilant of "Hi."

Your hello will be based on the time of day~

Konnichi wa (or konnichi ha if you were reading it in Japanese print) is the standard Hello.

Ohayou~ Good morning
Konban wa~ Good evening

And Koiyuki is right with Oi. You wouldnt use it on your parents or grandparents though!

You also say Ne, Ne, Ne to get someone's attention. Its kinda like Hey, I got something to tell ya!

Ossu can be heard by old guys when they greet each other (@ karaoke, bar, any relaxing kinda place). I think its kinda like a man thing becuase I never heard Kyoto ladies greet each other in such a way. Haha.
