Numerous to download things for free, legally (Depending on which state/country you currently reside in. Please check with your locals laws before downloading)

If there are any other ways you would like to know about, just ask. I'll figure it out no problem.

Method #1: LimeWire

1. Go to the Limewire site and download the Basic (Free) version of LimeWire.

2. Open LimeWire in the language you desire and install.

3. Do the settings as you want them to be in the second installation process.

4. After LimeWire opens, go to Tools, then Options. Then click on Sharing, and disable Share Finished Downloads. Then go to Uploads, and disable Allow Partial Sharing.

5. After disabling sharing, search for whatever you wish in the search bar, and press enter. If nothing turns up after 10 seconds, there are no files matching your search.

6. Click on the file you want, then click Download.

7. From there, you just wait until it is finished, then retrieve it from your Downloads folder.

Method #3: Torrents

1. Download a BitTorrent Client like BitComet, Azureus, BitTornado, µTorrent, BitLord, or one of the various other clients.

2. Go to a BitTorrent Site, such as Torrent Portal, Torrent Reactor, or Torrent Spy.

3. in the search bar, search for the files you want.

4. Click on said file, and click on download.

5. When downloaded, open the torrent in your client, and start the download (Normally by double-clicking).

6. After download is complete, open the files from your download folder.

Notes on Torrents:
Downloads can be fast or slow. It all depends on The number of seeders and leechers.

A seeder is someone who is uploading the file to you. A leecher is someone who is downloading from the person who could have been uploading to you. Basically, the more leechers there are, the less likely you will be downloading fast.

A dead file is a torrent that has no seeders or is not downloadable. Sometimes, there is just no way around it.

Like all things, there is a chance someone will upload a virus. Please be careful.

Ultima's Say

These are just basic ways of getting things for free on the internet. You can download music, games, applications, anything for you computer through these methods. Just please be aware that these methods are considered illegal in many places. If you really want to do this legally, move to Canada. they're cool about this stuff.

Ultima's Preferences

I personally like to use torrents. My client is BitComet version 0.7. I don't really use an actual browser to find my torrents. BitComet has its own browser inside it, so I go on that and download directly to BitComet. I can usually find fast torrents, but if I am searching for Japanese stuff, like JRock, it can take a while just to file the files, and sometimes takes weeks to download. It is just that torrents, unlike LimeWire and BearShare, are entire albums (mostly), so I don't have to have 13 downloads for a single album.

Ultima's Worries

Yeah, if you are using torrents, I'm sure you're frustrated at some of your downloads. "Why am I stuck at 97.9%?", "Why hasn't it started?", "Why is no one seeding?". I understand this frustration. Just delete that torrent, and find another one.
When the Seed/Leech ratio is something like, 150/3500, you're gonna have a slow download. It is much better to find files with a 5/7 ratio. Sometimes, though, you don't even need seeds. The leechers also upload, though much slower than seeds. Just be patient, and you will become pro at this.

FAQ

Q: If I download a MMORPG, will it come with a key code?
A: No. Most MMO companies are really good and keeping people from this.

Q: What happens when I'm done downloading?
A: For LW and BS, you can either find more downloads or close LW/BS. For torrents, you can keep your client up and seed, or you can close your client.

Q: When you said 'applications', what do you mean?
A: I mean expensive programs like Photoshop, Antivirus programs, cracked programs (Which lets you bypass much of the key code stuff), and other things.

If you have other questions, i'd be happy to answer. Just post your question here. Or if you prefer to remain anonymous, just PM me. All questions, though, will go to the FAQ unless a PMed question asks not to be put up.
