Happy Pi day!!!
Ok so I'm a day late but I was in a mental hospital whats your excuse... sweatdrop
So did you celibrate and if so how?

Our math department had Pi day, which included a pie-eating contest and a pi recitation contest. It was pretty kewl.

I'm currently still learning some pi, not sure how far I'm going...learnt 314 decimal places last year but got stuck somewhere around 250 during the recital, so she stopped me because I had to go to lessons. sad . Still freaked out the head of maths though, and got given a pi t-shirt. Hehe...
Yup, was wishing people happy pi day when they were all saying it was save a spider day... confused

wow i didn't know other people did this.
i ate pie with my good friend. we managed to snatch a chocolate sauce dispenser so we could write some of pi on the pie we purchased.
i made a post about the day on my forum website but no one seemed interested...

Uh...if you're referring to the way I learn, I layer it...I set it out in lines of forty digits with a space between every ten in Times New Roman and a largish size, and I learn in chunks of varying lengths with small patterns within them (the varying lengths helps, I couldn't do it in say all pairs or all groups of three), labelled with letters (which I only really use after about 200 digits), and the occasional extra label in places where I mix up lines...
Was that what you were asking?

yeah, that's exactly what i was asking.
that must be really hard.
do you know about piems they are really crazy... they are "poems" written, each word in the poem represents a number in pi based on how many letters there are in that word.
"How I need a drink, alcoholic by nature, after the heavy lectures involving quantum mechanics." can represent 3.14159265357979 in that way.
i guess the record is 100,000 proven to be memorized... according to wikipedia.org

The 7th graders in my school have a contest and the winner gets a pie.
But I'm in advanced math so I didn't get to do it. cry

My birthday is on Pi Day! I feel very lucky, especially since I am an extreme math geek. For my last birthday, I got a Pi sweatshirt.
But to celebrate Pi Day, some of my friends bake pies and we all eat them. They are very good cooks.

I celebrate Pi day by memorization... mainly because, regardless of the fact that our school has an advanced program, most kids here think math is the worst subject period. :XP:
Also: does anyone celebrate it on 7/22?

I'm such a geek... sweatdrop We were supposed to do something in math class for it, but my teacher forgot! I totally reminded her and everything, but... waugh. ;_; P.S.: I have type 1 bipolar disorder with psychosis... not fun, I understand. Yuck.

Forget piems, I do it by phone numbers. Break the digits up into 10-number blocks and memorize like a phone number. The only hard part is remembering which phone number comes before which.
