In the Gaia Home Arena, on every single house, there are like 5 or 6 people commenting with this spew of nonsense which starts out:

"My house in Mexico was big. It had 5 rooms. It was more comfortable than my apartment here. I lived with my parents, brothers and sisters. My home in Mexico had two floors...." etc. and etc.

and goes on and on and on with basically not-very-good English describing the difference between somebody's Mexico and USA houses. I'm usually pretty up on Internet humor, memes, etc. But I have no idea what the reference is and everybody is doing it. I don't really think it's that funny but maybe it goes with some Flash animation or something? Or a TV show? o_O;; I don't like being out of the loop, haha. I did some googling and found nothing. Does anyone know where this originated?

not a clue, I didn't even know it was happening, gonna go look.... Wow, freaky, looks like maybe the accounts have been taken over. Or created as trolls? bots? not sure of the correct terminology on that.
Several are brand new accounts but a couple are older ones that possibly have been hacked...
Either way, it's freaky stuff.

Totally at a loss there, I'm afraid... eek

Strange! I figured there was just some reference I was missing... who knows. Maybe it's a 4-chan joke or something.

Man, I can never figure out those 4-chan jokes. "Why the heck is that owl so funny?! I don't get it!"

I mean, at least the "All your base" thing started out funny, even if it got old pretty darn fast.

Yeah, the repeated 4Chan invasions do not seem funny to me. It's like they use all the internet stereotypes and silly humor to make fun of people who are doing the same things. It boggles my mind.

Is it the same story that keeps being posted? Or is it just something similar? It could be some cheaters spamming for gold, in place of the "GbDkfN" mules they were using in the other arenas. You know--the ones who always post something like "LOLCOOL moose HI"

Sounds like it might be copypasta. Some of them are slightly amusing on 4chan's 'random' section (I'm speaking of the /b/ board of course), but they do not translate very well to Gaia. They are ultimately meant to be random, make no sense, and fill space.

-rant-
A big reason these don't work here is beacuse if you don't go to 4chan, how the heck are you supposed to "get it?" besides that , I think the 4chan site in general has a different vibe/mentality - nothing wrong with it, just different. (though some of the new (younger?) 4channers especially seem to take things to far. (most likely the reason other 'chans' where created.)

I mean the original (2chan) spawned the whole Densha-otoko phenomenon, so boards aren't all bad (though the D.O. - realated board was text-based, but still a part of 2-chan, just not a part of the image boards.

That's a post originated for getting gold; people think the longer you post the more gold you get.

Yeah, I asked my friend if it was 4-chan, since she goes there a lot, and she said that it sounded like Copypasta, though she hasn't seen it before. On google, I found some other things that started out the same way, but they wern't the same the whole way through.

I kinda have a grudge on 4-chan because they've made fun of me a few times (I'm a cosplayer), calling me fat and whatnot, but on a whole they are an interesting spawn of either coolness or repulsive lewdness. xD

I guess it's just some random post-for-gold meme, but I would still like to know where the original text came from.

It's the same thing, over and over, repeatedly word for word.

Yeah, 4-chan is kinda nifty, but they are usually so meanspirited I can't like them or deal with them on a regular basis. It's not "nice" to make fun of people... "let he who is without a shred of losery nerdom throw the first stone."

Man, I absolutely hate it when people do that! I came across a thread here on Gaia a couple of days ago that was expressly for the purpose of making fun of "bad" cosplay... most of which was fantastic cosplay, actually, but they had deemed the costumer to be too "fat and ugly". Made me so mad, I was practically foaming at the mouth. The idea that you have to have a perfect body or physically look like the character to cosplay is one of my pet peeves. If you had to look like the character, then no Japanese person should ever cosplay, because anime characters almost never actually look Asian.

I've had a bunch of bad experience with 4-chaners, so I don't ever go there. That always makes me the last to know with those internet jokes, but, eh... Oh well. There's plenty of funny stuff out there to spend my time on that I DO understand.

Yeah, it's really mean-spirited and sad. I feel like if I'm going to do something as attention-grabbing as cosplay, I should be prepared to take both good and bad reactions, but that's really no excuse to be cruel about it. I've judged at cons before and I would never judge anyone on their physical apperance, that's not the point. .= neutral

But as long as there are digital pictures on the internet, no matter who or what they are of, there'll be someone to make fun of them, even if 4-chan someday disappears from "the google."
