is there a japanese father's day or equivalent?

does anyone know a proper greeting i could teach my son to tell his father on father's day?

this can also serve for holidays as they come up, or as people learn about them.

There is Father's Day, Mother's Day in Japan. They are the same days as observed in the US. I dont remember what we said to the "parents" but I know the days are "Okaasan no hi" Otoosan no hi" and etc.

Here is more information on other holidays

Well, you said this could serve as a place for holidays coming up so I might as well announce that the Tanabata festival is on July 7th (Or as Japan Guide said, either July or August 7th. But I celebrated it on July 7th. So there.).

I am in need of sparklers.
