i would like to start a thread that everyone will introduce them selves on because to the japanese the introduction is very important. good things to say would be name age schooling family and maybe a couple of your hobbys. you can post in either japanese or english or even both i guess. but pleas post one that way everyone can get to know each other and we can practice the language．ども。

こんにちは、皆さん。はじめまして。私はルナと申します。よろしくお願いします。

ミネソタ大学の四年生です。来年、春学期卒業するつもりです。私はちょっと緊張していますね。現在、日本語、日本文化、文学とメディアを専攻しています。アジア語の勉強が大好きだから、韓国語も勉強しています。しかし、昔々、中国語を習ってみたけど、本当に難しかったと思っていました。でもある日もう一度中国語を習ってみたいんですが。

他の趣味はアニメを見たり、漫画を読んだり、社会言語学を勉強したり、ピアノを引いたり、歌を歌ったりすることのが好きです。他の趣味が多いんですが、日本語で説明ができません。（どうもすみませんでした！）

将来一年、二年ぐらい日本で英語の家庭教師になってみたいんです。それから、日本社会言語学について勉強して、日本語を上手になれるために、ドイツで大学院を通るつもりです。（彼もあそこに住んでいます。）

じゃ、何か、質問があれば、私に聞いてくださいね。日本語を習えば、絶対に練習して、一所懸命頑張らなくちゃいけないべきだと思いますよ！

Japanese: Furigana (and English)

こんにちは、みなさん。はじめまして。わたしはルナともうします。よろしくおねがいします。
Hello, everyone. How do you do? My name is Luna. Pleased to meet you.

ミネソタだいがくのよんねんせいです。
I am a fourth-year student at the University of Minnesota.

らいねん、はるがっきそつぎょうつもりです。わたしはちょっときんちょうしていますね。
Next year, I plan to graduate in spring semester. I'm a little nervous.

げんざい、にほんご、にほんぶんか、ぶんがくとメディアをせんこうしています。
Presently, I am majoring in Japanese Language, Japanese Culture, Literature, and media.

アジアのべんきょうがだいすきだから、かんこくごもべんきょうしています。
Because I love Asian studies, I am also studying Korean language.

しかし、むかしむかし、ちゅうごくごをならってみたけど、ほんとうにむずかしかったとおもっていました。でもあるひもういちどちゅうごくごをならってみたいんですが。
However, a long time ago, I tried taking Chinese language, but I thought it was very difficult. But one day, I want to try learning the Chinese language one more time.

ほかのしゅみはアニメをみたり、まんがをよんだり、しゃかいげんごがくをべんきょうしたり、ピアノをひいたり、うたをうたったりすることのがすきです。
My other hobbies I like doing are watching anime, reading manga, studying sociolinguistics, playing the piano, singing, and things like that.

ほかのしゅみがおおいんですが、にほんごでせつめいができません。（どうもすみませんでした！）
I have lots of other hobbies, but I can't explain them in Japanese. (I'm really sorry!)

しょうらいいちねん、にねんぐらいにほんでえいごのかていきょうしになってみたいんです。
In the future, I want to try to become an English tutor in Japan for one or two years.

それから、にほんしゃかいげんごがくについてべんきょうして、にほんごをじょうずになれるために、ドイツでだいがくいんをとおるつもりです。（かれもあそこにすんでいます。）
Then, so that I can improve my Japanese and study Japanese Sociolinguistics, I plan to attend graduate school in Germany. (My boyfriend also lives there.)

My name is Ashley. I'm 21 years old and am currently working at a daycare taking care of six little babies.
I hope one day to become an artist (eventually using oil paints) but at the moment, I do not have the talent or means.

I'm Elix, 19, and Chinese*.
I'm trying to pick up asian cooking along with Japanese and Korean languages so I could appreciate the shows and culture more (and because some people say I look Korean/Jap**, so it'll be a great language to pick up).

I hope to be able to get to know you guys more, and possibly further my somewhat non-existent Japanese skills.

*If you need help with Mandarin I can help haha.
