Indeed! But it wasn't a character of the same name XD
Before I'd read Anita Blake (And when all I knew was Anita, Jean-Claude and Richard), I had a vamp character named Delano. I *adored* him, and as did my friends and some people who read the story that I didn't know. I started reading Anita Blake.....got to Jason, like when you really first start knowing him.....and wanted to cry. Here was my Delano, but with blonde hair, blue eye's, and a wereleopard!
;_; I loved that story and have since dropped it.

Not with Anita Blake...but I have seen White Wolf steal a lot of material from my LARP organization, including some stuff I've done in the past few years. It was amazing to read about one of the big deaths in their Sourcebooks and realize "Wow....I was there when that happened and contributed....and they just stole it!"

Weird. This forum was the first time I have ever done any RP, so nothing like that has ever happened to me.

Narniakat Weird. This forum was the first time I have ever done any RP, so nothing like that has ever happened to me. Same for me. I've just had the experience where a character pops up with my name but sounds like the exact opposite of myself. Or even worse, sounds like they will become a character I'll grow to hate. There's also random story ideas I have written that will pop up in books (not just LKH's) and that sucks. It makes me feel like if I ever did get published people would think I was a copycat.

Awhile back a friend and I were creating a web-comic, we had about three chapters done, and had not posted it online yet. Then Wish (by CLAMP) came out....our characters had almost the EXACT same outfits. It was insanely creepy. Especially seeing as how we had started doing our comic months before anyone even heard of Wish. Now we have to go through and re-draw all of their outfits if we want to finally post it because someone will yell 'copycat'. It's quite frustrating. stare
