I asked a question somewhere else about age and viewing of pornographic material. It blew up like crazy! From the answers I was receiving, it led me to wonder about something else.
Do you view/read yaoi for sexual gratification?
Obviously, this question is very personal in nature and you don't have to post to answer it. Just answer honestly on the poll and then reply to the post with a simple "I voted!" so we can keep the post from falling. If you do want to answer the question and explain why you view/read yaoi, please do so! Just remember to keep the conversation from getting too explicit burning_eyes

SilverMaple What's sexual gratification? eek
Hmmm how to put this without sounding nasty or using nasty words. It means you do it for.....pleasure. I think that's how you would put it.
I voted.

I voted yes and no... It's not the main reason I view yaoi, and most of the times it's not even a reason. But there are some times that I view yaoi for sexual gratification, but they are rare.

*cough* Yes and no.
Sometimes I just want squishy/angsty love stories of two lovers struggling with themselves and society, sweetly cuddling and playing out a fairly ideal emotional relationship (or, in the case of angst, not so ideal).
Sometimes...I just don't care about their feelings. I just get tired of their emotions, struggles, plots, plans and angst. No thinking, no complex emotions, just...um...*searching for a delicate way to put it*...release.

I voted yes. It's not like "I'm horny now! Where's the yaoi!" *unzips pants* xd But I'm alive and they're sexy. So yeah, I do. So there is a certain level of sexual gratification. However, it doesn't happen all the time because I don't always find yoai (fanfiction/art, doujins, manga) that turn my crank.

I went for yes and no. Mostly no, I tend to use it for an outlet for my romantic side (the whole forbidden love angle) But every so often I come across a picture or story that... redface gives me certain thoughts twisted
