Okay, from the suggestions posts, I got this idea from Coconut Rei.

We are going to have a competition once a month. It will be something different each time. It may be writing, drawing, poems, etc. I would appreciate any suggestions or feedback about whether you like this idea or not.

PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE POST BEFORE POSTING A REPLY!!!

First Competition & Rules:

From tomorrow, October 7th - October 21st, we are going to have an art competition. This can be done with traditional drawing, painting or other art media, or with computer generated art, as long as it is original and done by you, and that it is somehow related to Anita Blake or a character in the Anita Blake series. Only images posted between October 7th - October 21st will be part of the competition.

Please post the image directly in this topic, or post a link to your website in this topic if it is easier for you that way. As long as we can see it. People can enter as many different art pieces as they want, as long as it is during the entry time period and that each piece follows the necessary rule requirements. Be sure to title each piece you enter so people can differentiate between your entries if you enter more than one.

The winner will be whoever has the most votes between October 22-October 31st, 2004.

People who want to vote, please do not vote until October 22. You may post replies or comments regarding any of the images at any time. No votes posted prior to October 22 will be counted towards the official vote. Don't even think about doing it, because those posts will be deleted. This is to ensure that all of the images to be entered in the competition are posted before people begin voting.

Beginning October 22, anyone wanting to vote, post one reply that says I vote for: then list the name of the person who did the art you want to vote for and if they titled the piece, then list the title too. Only one vote per person will be counted, so do not try to stack the vote by cheating and voting twice.

So an example would be: I vote for Samantha's "Anita raising a Zombie."

Please post any questions regarding this competition to this topic too. I hope this all made sense. If not, just ask for clarification. Since this is the first competition I have run, it will be a learning experience & if everyone likes it, then we will do more.

Oh by the way, two October surprise letters will be the grand prize.

Don't worry if you don't do art, if this works well, we will try to have variety in the competitions so hopefully everyone will eventually find one of the competititions to enter.

Can it be a picture of sybolism? I really want to do one that represents, not a potrait or "love scean" thing.

As long as it is related to the Anita Blake series somehow, it does not have to be like a portrait or anything like that.



And to those of you who want to write, we will make the next competition a writing one, okay! I want everyone to enjoy this process.
