I'm just wondering if anyone else has seen this anime and what are your views on it.

It has some reference to gothic and lolita in it, and is a gothic themed anime but i think some of the outfits are so much like lolita its incredible.
The storyline i found deep and a little different than others i have seen before.

I'm just wondering does anyone actually think it is lolita?

-To those who have not seen it-

I recommend it. This is what the dvd says about it and what it is about (yes i bought it XD)

'Who loves me so much, that he would forsake his own dear life...
Is it you?'

Eiri, a talented art student, works part time in an antique shop in a quiet part of town. One afternoon, he uncovers a delicate Venetian glass holding a startling secret within. When Eiri peers into the glass, he can see a young girl, her life playing out like a movie solely for him to see. Curious, he stares into the glass hoping to learn more about the enchanting girl inside. This is Cossette, a mysterious, beauty haunting the glass, waiting 250 years for someone to finally see her, and set her free. Eiri is soon obsessed with Cossette, determined to do anything he can to help her. Will Eiri see past al lthe illusions and discover the tragic truth or will he be consumed by anguish and obsession.

So what do you people think?

-C'est la lune qui conduit la danse...-

@ Miss Sadako: You can watch it on Youtube. Just type in "Le portrait de cossette" and it should pop up.

But anyways, I think it is very lolita. Speaking that Cossette lived during the what... 18th Century or something, they said? The artist who made the anime and manga did a very good job (in my opinion) in keeping Cossette's clothing in check to the time period. 3nodding
It's a very good anime, I love it. A Victorian Horror story, I guess you call them. I wish I had the DVD. ;o;

Your going to hate me- my boyfriend bought me it as a present XD

I thought the clothing was great as well, i loved the details they used as well.

You can watch a lot of things on youtube. I watched the whole of mean girls because i got bored and i wanted to laugh at girls who are like that.

I've watched this anime and I would like to say yes, its lolita... but it really isn't. Sure, its "styled" after gothic lolita, but the story of the child/girl was in the 1800s. =o That's victorian, not lolita.

Doi. <.<;

Now, her clothing is meant to look gothic lolita probably to define the creepy air of it about her, so it could be yes or no. My answer would be "yes, its styled after lolita and the Japanese meant it to be that, but to be historically accurate, its not". x_X;
