I gots a question for you all. I was wonder what made you want to start color guard?
I was just curiouse because there are many defrent reasons.
I started guard because it encorperates dance.
What made you want to start?

I joined guard because it's my senior year and the band finally doesn't need a really strong clarinet to carry the section through the show...plus I conned the BD into letting me guard... sweatdrop

I joined because it was something to do during the school year and it turned out to be fun

I joined it beacuse we have a awsome guard and I wanted to be a part of it.
Plus its a great eay to meet new people and got fun places.

I joined my last year of middle school because my friend wanted me to join with her. She quit freshman year, but I kept coming back.

I joined because 1. I always thought it looked pretty, and 2. I knew a few people trying out and thought that would be cool. I didn't make it the first time i tried out [heh.] so I persisted and made it in 8th grade. Didn't join for stupid reasons in 9th, but did winterguard, and I'm not going into 10th in guard.

*trips and falls onto conclusion*
I basically didn't want to take P.E., and I couldn't play an instrument and ROTC was too hard...so I chose Colorguard and it's been so fun so far!

we had gotten a new director a year before I came and then my firends and I thought it looked fun. So we joined in 7th and I am now in 9th and i'm still having a blast! mrgreen

My sister got converted to join when her friend joined for flute. I saw her at football games (she was a freshman- I was a seventh grader). I just fell in love with the flag. I was really outta shape, and it was just something fun to do. In Pemberton, they allow the eighth graders to join the band. They needed to percussionists, so I had to join the pit. however, when Pemberton's first generation Winterguard came around, i totally joined in a heartbeat.

You know, I'm really not sure where it came about. My science teacher in 7th grade (who is one of the collest people ever!) was in charge of it, along with her husband. They put up flyers around the school and I joined. Ever since I've been a total Winterguard Junkie!

I joined cuz my band dirrector said any woodwind could and I was like I'M SO NOT PLAYING MY DORKY CLARINET xD lol and then after a year I loved it. ^^

I used to play trumpet in middle school, but I didn't want to in high school because we had to take it as a class instead of being pulled from class to do it. When the high school band director showed our band class the show from the previous year, my eyes were always on the guard. It looked really cool. I signed up, and here I am in my second season! I really want to do indoor, and my coach is trying to set up an indoor program this winter.

[.L.O.S.E.R.] I really want to do indoor, and my coach is trying to set up an indoor program this winter. I hope you get one. Winterguard is what I live for! I mean, it's a pain in the a** sometimes, what with the drama and all the hard work and stuff, but it's totally worth it. Everytime we get back into the fall season and I retreat into the band, I end up missing guard (and the people) so much!

I joined the guard because it was something completely different from what I was normally involved in. I'd always wanted to learn some sort of dance. And it was a great experience. Minus the craptastic advisors and people takin sides for drama reasons. Since I have graduated I have missed dancing and the equipment work. My job and college has made very difficult to visit and even think about going to a competition. But i shall continue to try.
