well, i love to say that i love yaoi when in fact i'm more of a shonen-ai chick. i think it's because yaoi is such a fun word to say!
so, which are you more passionate about, the hot male on male action of yaoi? or the sweet cutesy omgosh-ness of shonen-ai?

Shounen-ai. xD I mean, the occasional random SEX of yaoi is okay once in a while, but for something I'm gonna read constantly, it should have a lot of fluff and a lot of cute and a lot of funny. However, my favourites have both shounen-ai and yaoi. There's a reason I say BL more than the other terms. xD;;;

I don't like to look at explicit sex, it just doesn't hold that much appeal for me. So I prefer manga/anime/TV to be more about the build up to rather than the act itself. I'm a complete sucker for angst and I just love the shounen-ai "x thinks - he'll never love me - whilst Y thinks exactly the same" type storyline.
I don't mind a bit of gratuitous sex in fic though... Lol. smile

i defenantly agree. one really cutesy manga is demon diary, its got all the fluff that you'd need to read surprised

I like the shounen-ai sweetness and loveing moments. Constant sex between the characaters I dont care for at all, but as the story lines go as for fluff and such I enjoy so much better like the manga Loveless

I like a mix of both; shounan ai is great when your in a romantic or good mood and Yaoi is great for those bouts of pervertedness everyone (Me) sems to get! XD

I like porn, I'm not even going to try to hide it, but smut alone doesn't do it for me. The characters have to have some sort of emotional connection, be it romantic, fluffy, or the complete opposite, for the smex to hold any appeal for me. I like desperate, angsty, kinky; or sweet, happy, soft-and-sweet relationships. Whatever the pace, whatever the content (innocent or hardcore), if there's no emotional connection, there's no satisfaction for me, the viewer/reader.

Shonen ai, definitely. Being a lesbian, male/male sex isn't really my thing, but I'm such a hopeless romantic, so fluffiness wins all.

So I'm one of the few who tends to feel jipped if the characters don't boink at least once by the end of the series?
I like a good story but I also like a good sex scene. As long as the motives make sense (even if the motive is just 'i'm horny!'), that I'm all for it. :3

As for FAKE... read volume 7 of the manga. >3 I don't like Papa that much. It wasn't exactly what I was expecting. For a theme that dark, everything was just a little to cute. And I actually could not stand Mira.
