Hello, my name is amanda ooc, though I tend to go by the alias Mercutio a lot. I was pleasantly surprised to learn there was a hide out for older Gaians. Many times as much as I enjoyed Gaia I felt out of place, as if at the age of 22 I had gained myself ranks with the elderly. While there's nothing wrong with the swarms of 12 year olds I often felt out of place. Here I am, about to start Graduate school in the fall. I've had my own apartment, I've purchased alcohol legally, voted in a presidential election, gotten a bachelors of science, worked at a hospital, and done numerous of other things that many gaians haven't experienced yet. Feels sort of strange at times. When did I become old? All these new fads, I remember when Goth made it's boom (though it did get its start as far back at the eighties) now you have Emo and all sorts of new classifications. The world's changing, so I'm setting down my "walker" for a moment to say hello, and pleased to meet you all.

Nice to meet you as well. It is a little disheartening, the sandbox seems like yesterday. Soon we will be in diapers again... alas so goes the joy of toilet training.

I think I first felt old when I had to ask a 17 year old friend what an emo was. I felt like such a nanna!

True, I remember when the catagories were jock, geek, popular.... now there's goth, emo, punk, and dozens of others. O_O
