I was reading the complaints post, and reading the thing with these shocking posts. So I went and had a look around at the general discussion posts and found out what you were talking about. Lately it seems I am always coming across S&M on the net. I don't really have any problem with people doing it, but it seems popular and I just don't get it. Like the outfits make me giggle and if someone hit me with a whip or something, I wouldn't feel too happy about it. I don't get the pain business. Like if I hit my thumb with a hammer, I don't get any pleasure out of it at all.

I think someone tried to explain it to me once, but I still didn't get it.

Um, I just realised my Avatar seems to be wearing a lot of leather surprised

Anyway, it'd be interesting to see what are the things, fetishs or otherwise, that other people here have problems understanding. What is it that you just don't get?

I'm with you on the pain thing, they tend to take a little harmless nibbling to the extreme, and I can't say it'd do a lot for me...

I wonder if there is a fetish for people who don't like pain - Soft and Mild?

I'm not convinced it'll take off...

S&M is really a form of self punishment. It's not so much the pain as the humiliation and sheer degredation. I don't understand it either, really as I prefer my lovemaking more pleasurable.

Yes, I am not a hedonist, but I usually go out of my way to avoid degradation and humiliation, as well as pain. But maybe there is something thrilling in going against your natural instincts or drives.

Another thing I don't get is naturalism, because if it is natural to be nude, you wouldn't think about being nude and making a point of it... but naturalists seem very much obsessed with being nude and that isn't really a natural state. For nude to be natural, then you wouldn't think about being nude.

Not that I am trying to put people down, but these are just things I don't get.

I'd never really thought about that whole naturalist thing, but you're right!

As for me, I think clothes are just practical! It's too cold without them! And in summer, you could get yourself some nasty sunburn...

I think nudist is a more correct term than naturalist. I think it is very natural to put on clothes when it is cold.

Then again, maybe it is a natural tendency for white people to expose their skins to the sun when the opportunity arises, because fair skinned Europeans were traditionally found in environments that didn't have as much sun as say Australia or Africa. I have noticed on beaches that the people baking themselves in the sun are the caucasians, whereas the darker skinned people are wearing shirts and hats... and most of the pictures of naturalist you see seem to be white... so maybe the naturalism is the natural instinct to acquire Vitamin D.

You've put a lot of thought into this, haven't you... blaugh

Well, I admit it, I am a closet nudist... there is just something about being in a small room naked and surrounded by clothes. It's the irony of it I think wink

Furries. I don't get what's the intrique of doing it in animal suits. That and the anthro porn.

Where's the vomit emoticon?

Yeah, I don't get that either. Maybe it stems from the way they animate animals as people in cartoons - like Mickey Mouse behaves like a human that looks like a mouse... so maybe when some people hit puberty, the furry porn is an extension of that. They are furry and have heads of the animals, but they always seem to have human genitalia and breasts.

Mermaids are funny too. They have scales like a fish, but they have mammary glands - how would such a creature have evolved, because there is nothing like that in nature (fish with breasts). I suppose furries are just an extension of a long tradition of making composite creatures that are part human and part animal. In Ancient Greek times, however, they didn't know about evolution, so bits of different animals stuck together may have seemed more plausible.

I haven't looked in the Art Arena yet, but I expect that there would be at least a few furries there.
