I'm curious about book signings. I'll have to look up some info on the whens and wheres. I'd really like to get a book signed by her at least once.
I also wonder if she's as.. spunky as her characters tend to be. And better yet, which characters and/or situations are based upon things that have happened to her. I notice both Anita and Merry have had a turn with a guy they fell in love with who couldn't accept them.

Yes, it makes you wonder, since most people's writing reflects their lives at least a little. I wonder if she is short. I would love to go to a book signing too.

I didn't know that about her mom. I would love to meet her too. I think I would be weak in the knees.

I also wasn't aware that her mother died. That's one detail that ties in with her lead female characters.

Locus and Chronicle have both done cover stories(you can buy back issues) with LKH that have lots of details on her past and what inspired her to write her books - very interesting reading heart
She talks about the time she lived in LA when a body was found near where she was living. She went out and talked to the police guarding the site and gathered a majority of her early research on crime scenes and police investigations that way.
I have a galley of Burnt Offerings, a paperback of Obsideon Butterfly, and the first Merry Gentry book signed. The latter two were signed at the NCIBA(Northern California Independant Booksellers Association) trade show a few years back and Burnt Offerings was signed at a reading I attended(also in Northern California).
