Welcome to the Workshop Room! I often find myself roaming the guild, the gaia writer's forum, and other websites looking for motivation and inspiration for my own writing. Sometimes I need to work on some non-serious writing just to develop my skills. Other times I just like talking about the writing process with other writers. I love learning from other writers. The Workshop Room is dedicated to helping each other become better writers.
This room is designed for developing you as a writer. So far I have a few ways of doing this. If you have any other ideas on how to accomplish this, please feel free to post them in the suggestion box.
Before participating, you need to familiarize yourself with the stickies. The stickies are listed as follows: Suggestion Box, Lecture Hall, Workout Center, and Guidance Office. The following posts elaborate on what these contain. Please do NOT post until you have familiarized yourself with these stickies.

Suggestion Box This thread is for you to share your opinions and ideas on how the Workshop room is working. It is also where you can recomend other writing websites or books. You can also request topics that you would like to see a lecture or excercise to help you on. I will read all the post in the thread and keep track of them in the first few posts.

Lecture Hall This would be where I keep track of the lecture type threads in the forum. These are threads where you post writing on writing. It can be an actual lecture, or prose, or even a rant. The requirements are that it has to be informative and helpfull for other writers. Lectures are allowed and even encouraged to turn into discussions. Don't think because of it's formal name that it can't be interactive!
When you create a lecture thread, you must post in the Lecture Hall using the form in the first post. I will organize your posts into a list so people looking for a lecture on a perticular topic may find it easily.

Workout Center This thread, like the Lecture Hall, is where I index the excercising threads for you. These threads are where writing excercises take place. So if you found an awesome writing excercise that really works for you, please create a thread and share! Just remember to post about it in the Workout Center using the form provided.

Guidance Office Unlike the other stickies, this thread is not an index. It is a place to go and discuss about your work in progress. Come here for answers, or to help out fellow writers, or just to talk about writing. Please keep your questions specific to your peticular piece you are working on. Don't ask us how to overcome writers block or what to name your characters or any general question that could be answered by a workshop thread (lecture or excercise).
I do not plan to keep track of it in the first post. However, if it seems I need to (people's problems are getting lost in the chatter and left unanswered) then I will. This will only happen if you bring it to my attention. So if you feel you need attention, don't be shy. I'll help you out.
