Depends on what youre going to drink... Lol... When ever I drink, I just space it out. I drink some before dinner, eat a rather light dinner... If I eat anything heavy, I end up throwing up anyway... And then I drink pretty heavy after dinner.. I notice if I wake up about 4 in the morning, drink a glass of water, take a couple of asprin, and go to sleep again... I feel pretty good in the morning. I really dont usually have hangovers, and Jack Daniels is my poisen.

my advice would be to avoid anything dark coloured. ie rum wiskey red wine .. you get the picture. they contain slightly diferant forms of alcohol that give you a bad hangover. the other way to avoid it is to drink so much your stil pissed when you get up. a drunk never has a hangover
oh and if your drinking beer and lager dont drink stella. god i think im gonna die the next day after drinking that.
remember to make the night so much fun its worth feeling rough the next day

There is an old addage- don't mix your drinks- meaning don't drink a bunch of different kinds of alcohol (vodka, tequilla, rum, wiskey, beer, wine) I've found this to be a load of bull.
I don't ever get hang overs. Maybe its just an internal thing. Its certainly not for lack of trying. - When I drink, I drink a lot. But I don't drink often.
Anyway my "secret" is to drink a glass of water about ever 3-4 drinks and before you pass out drink a glass of water. use the restroom often. Anytime durring the night that you wake up- drink water. If you're starting to feel a hang over take a shot of a low alcohol content drink (I use smirnoff ice- but a beer will work as well) Don't drink the whole thing- you don't want to get drunk again, you just want to ease your body back into its sober state. Drink MORE water. Water is what your body uses to proccess the alcohol. A hangover is actually a form of dehydration.
If you do have a hangover Remember- perscription strength pain killers are generally 800mg- an over the counter tylenol is about 200mg *wink* do the math and take 4 if you need to (If you have never tried this or never had perscription pain killers don't take more than 3- or spred it out. . take 2- wait an hour or 2 take 2 more- but do not take more than 4 in a 6-8 hour period.
Like i said- I never had a hang over. I was taught this "process" by a roomate my freshman year of college. I have a high alcohol tolerance- and to get me "drunk" it takes about 3-4 hard drinks or a 6 pack of beers (hence the reason I don't drink often- too damn expensive to get drunk)
Long answer- but I hope it helps ya!

The younger you are the sooner you recover as well. Hydration is a key. Coremen (Naval medics) will give themselves iv s after a wild light when they've got to be good to go for duty. Don't get hammered. The best way to avoid a hangover is to not get drunk. Get a buzz adn leave it at that. Go lighter or stop once you've reached that point. Don't keep going just because you're not feeling it yetsince some things effect you quiker than others. The reason why you can do so many jello shots is that you have to digest the jello to get to the alchohol, hence it delays the effects.

For me, it's all about water -lots of it! Have it while you're out, and then lots when you get home, and have a big bottle next to your bed!

I've found that all the tricks never work, but that may be because I only drink hard stuff xp
best advice is don't finish off your friends drinks... you end up drinking more than you meant to... heh heh... *sigh*

Eat well, before and during your drinking session, so you have something to line your stomach. The advice to drink water every drinks is a good one - maybe some soft drinks in between. If I remember I have chips (fries) & cheese - all that fat soaks up the alcohol - before catching the late bus - or maybe veg pakora. I then wash it all down with Irn Bru. I think you can only get this in Scotland. This is an orange-ish rust coloured soft drink which may be illegal to take to the US due to its high tartrazine content. But its good for hangovers. If it wasn't for Irn Bru all Scotiish people would be dead. biggrin If I forgot to do this I take indigestion tablets (for the dodgy tummy) & 2 paracetamol for the pain with a coffee (caffeine stimulates and wakes you up again if your tired) and lots of water. I do this if I've had a mad night out and have to go to work.
