In a campaign I'm starting in real life/pbp, A player was wondering if they're are any good aligned gods that have the death domain or any domain that has create dead and it's greater version to build a necromaner that just thinks undead are misunderstood rather than evil.

The build he's been doing is a specialised wizard but needs to some how get the create dead spells to get it right. One possiblity he's found is Arcane disciple from CD but any way he can do it with a good aligned arcane caster would work. I told him I'd loook into it but wasn't going to bend any rules to help him do it.

What world should I look in for this diety?

If you're talking PHB (Greyhawk) Gods, then Wee Jas, the Lawful Neutral god of death and magic, would be your lady. Her domains are Death, Law and Magic.
As long as he doesn't pick Chaotic Good as his alignment then he can worship her. But, really, how many specialized wizards are going to have chaotic alignments? All that study and patience and hard work... Maybe if he's an evoker...

In Forgotten Realms there is always Kelemvor, the god of the dead, his domains are Law, Death, Travel, and Protection. There is also Osiris..

If it's another world then I can look the gods up for that world for you too domokun

I remember reading about one in Scarred Lands too.

I guess she is right, the closest I can find anywhere are LN or N gods with the death domain that accept Good worshippers.

That's about what I thought.

I've put a good alignement restriction on the camapign for story purposes and for arcane disciple your alignement must match the deity's.

Does any one know of any other ways to get access to the spells, I've heard of stuff like any spell but I'm not to sure as to what it is.

People with good alignments just can't cast the right spells. That's why good clerics can turn undead, while neutral one have a choice.

He could use a magic item....

Osiris is the closest god of death whose good, the rest are uaully Neutral evil or Lawful Neutral, oh and you guys forgot Jergal, he is the senschel to Kelemvor. Jergal was actually the god of Death BEFORE Myrkul, and he was the god who gave Bane, Myrkul, AND Bhaal there divine powers, he also watched and guided Cyric in the matters of death, but soon after grew to hate Cyric.......In my World Necrocadez is the God of death, He's True Neutral, mostly because he doesn't really care WHO he gets, just as long as they go where they need to go. As for Jergal, he also had to give Kelemvor a lesson in fairness too.......

Hades isn't actually evil, he's actually Lawful Neutral.

Death I see as more of a nuetrel and evil thing. As I sit here trying to justify it, I dont believe I can. Death falls into the Natural order of things (Neutral), and the more hasty (evil) version.

Even kalamar with a staggering 42 gods only has two of them dealing with death. Both of them evil oddly enough.

LN is a pretty common alignment for death gods, being that they don't really care if a person is good or evil, only that they died, and go to the right place. Order is maintained by these gods.
