Soo we finished our play a little while ago and I was just wondering if there was anyone else out there who played in a pit for a play. I love doing it and it's so much fun. I played bassoon. What musicals were you in and on what instrument?

sweet! another bassoon player!
we finished a bit over a month ago on grease (i played tenor sax) and last year i played in beauty and the beast. this is totally something i love to do. i really want to make it my career.
what show did you do?

Well Ive never played for a musical, but I have played in a pit before I play alto, tenor, and bari sax. I do play for colleges and other award type things.

West Side Story on flute. Those songs are some of the most awkward pieces of music I have ever played...

i play flute. i was going to do pit orchestra for pirates of penzance but I didn't like the music so i quit after the 1st rehersal. we had 3 flutes anyway and they only needed 2.

but - pirates of penzance is supposed to be famous for its good music and idiotic story!
I played clarinet in pit for Oklahoma! this year... it was fairly awesome. I think being a paid pit orchestra musician would be an awesome career. Like for Broadway. *drool*

I played bassoon in Into the Woods... ever heard of it? It has a lot of bassoon in it, but sometimes it gets a little tedious. Did you play bassoon in beauty in the beast?

Blckpanthr13 West Side Story on flute. Those songs are some of the most awkward pieces of music I have ever played... we did that two years ago but i didn't play in it my friend did it was cinda crazy!
