i'm tired of people calling my (double)bass a cello!!!!!!!!!!Come on there is a massive difference! for one thing a cello is way smaller than a bass...like 3 times smaller...the strings are different and everything! I need input here people!!input!!!!!!!!! gonk scream

You can definetly tell a Cello from a Bass because of the size, but you can't tell if it's a picture or anything.
As for the Violin/Viola thing, I don't play it, and they're relatively the same size. So I really can't tell.

I don't see why you need to call the cello stupid...
People have called my saxophone a trumpet before. o_o
You can't blame non-band nerds for their ignorance, although it's pretty annoying sometimes...

I've had idiots tell me to "turn the piano down or use headphones" when playing an upright, heard far too many racist remarks about my African Djembe drum, had my saxophone called a trumpet, a trombone, and even a flugelhorn (how they'd heard of a flugelhorn but didn't know a saxophone is beyond me), and seen people attempt flute playing in ways I wouldn't have begun to imagine.

Oh, I'll add this~
at our concert a few days ago some kid called a bassoon, an oboe. It suprised me that he'd ever heard of an oboe... but they look nothing alike. o.o
My school needs an oboe, I'd like to play it.

People keep calling my cello a guitar, if it's in its case. Or a violin.
I tend to attract lots of attention while I'm rolling it around in its case. Last time I was in an airport, I passed a family seated in a row of chairs by the wall and one of their boys exclaimed "WOW! Look at that!" and pointed at my cello. (The fact that I've covered my hard case with stickers probably isn't helping me be inconspicuous. .___. )
