Deinos's heavy steps kicked up small puffs of dust as he paced the dry creek bed close to Venus' garden. Their friendship had blossomed in that garden, and now because of a few harsh months it was in jeopardy of crumbling. Deinos shook his head as another puff cloud sprung into the air.
No. He wouldn't allow it.
With one last shake of his head he slowly plodded his way back to Venus. He wasn't super familiar with the area but the closest stream that might still have water in it ment needing to take some serious jugs along on the trip to make the journey worth while. Deinos innerly denied the idea made him sweat. The creek bed was proof enough of the heat surrounding them. But if he let himself listen a small echo of his foster father yelling at him for breaking yet another thing with his size could be heard forever bouncing around in his head.
Deinos took a small fortifying breath before reaching Venus standing next to a withering plant. If they didn't act soon, things around here would get down right crispy. There was no kindness in drawing it out, so Deinos came right out with it. "The creek is fully dry now. I don't know if you want to try and walk further up stream to see if maybe there is a block, or if you know of any other bits of water around but...." Deinos took a moment to take a steadyinng breath and asses the amount of water needed. "We'll probably need to find somehow to bring it all back with us so we aren't wearing ourselves thin trying to save them all." His brows furrowed as he peered down at Venus, hoping she had an idea and they wouldn't have to go with his last resort.

Venus was looking at the dry areas around the garden. "Ugh.. The drought just had to appear." She looked over to Deinos who walked over to him, giving him a smile. "Hello, boys!" She walked over before giving Deinos and his vines some affection. "Forgive me, dears. I am a bit annoyed. The stream should have been nearby but alas.. The drought took it away."
She looked over to him, seeing the cute pouty look on his face. "Deinos.. It'll be okay. We just will have to adjust. It is no big deal. If we have to replant our seeds, it is okay. We always will find a way to get what we need. Right?" She burrs gently for him. "We can look up stream to see what is going on. Do we have any friends of yours in the area that can help us?"

Deinos could hardly hear anything over the words of his adoptive father echoing against the inside of his skull. In the periphery of his mind he could sense Venus greeting him and his vines. Her warmth drawing him in without his notice as he leaned against her without putting any of his weight on her. His vines soaking in the greeting as his eyes were locked on to the garden.
'....Can't you do anything good with your size?' 'Don't just stand there! If all you're going to do is break things, at least have the decency to clean up your own mess' and maybe not the loudest of the voices, but one of the ones that left jagged edges everything it struck his mind; 'This garden is ment to sustain the entire herd! Your carelessness could KILL someone!'
Deinos took a sharp inhale of breath as that word punched him in the chest. In all his life he had never wanted to harm anyone, and had strived to do some form of good in the Herd that had adopted him as a basket. But he wasn't that small foal being chided by his father anymore. And his brain knew it. As soon as the hurt started to settle in he instinctively started to look around for Venus. Thank the stars he hadn't taken a step in his desperation because she was still right next to him, radiating calmness as the tinge of insanity started to leave the edges of his eyes.
"Right" he forced himself to close his eyes and take a deep breath to try and absorb some of what she was giving off. If his nose just happened to be resting on the top of her head so that he took a deep breath of her hair scent, well, that was his business. With her scent flooding his nose he opened his eyes and stepped onto the dry creekbed as he readied himself to follow it. "There's a guy I know in the Aos Si village. Its usually reserved for flutters, but we may be able to get his attention without having to interrupt them.....somehow" he trailed off slightly before continuing "When I knew him in the past he had a cart we may be able to borrow so we can bring more water back. ....wherever that may be."
With the panic attack brought on by his memories mostly avoided, he looked over at her, curious of her thoughts.

Venus glances towards him, watching the anxiety growing within him. She'd knew that his life before her was not good. "Deinos.." She says softly towards him. She gets her front hooves on his chest, looking up at him. "It is okay, dear. Who is bothering you in your mind? I can see the anxiety within you." She nuzzled him deeply, giving him a shower of love that could fill an ocean. She then moves back down, sighing softly. Her gaze took her to the vines. "... Was it another bad night?" She'd whispered to the vines, low enough for him not to be able to hear.
She saw him slowly coming back to her mentally wise, giving him a smile. "There's my Deinos.. I didn't like the look in your eyes. Talk to me, my sweet venusaur." She perked up at the answer about the garden and smile. "Well.. I am half a flutter. We can go and see him if you like." She stands by him.. not as a gardener but as a protector. "We can talk about what is going on with you while you show me the way, dear."

Deinos leaned down to nuzzle Venus while he shook his head. "Sorry about that. I kind of nose dived into my thoughts." He left it at that for right now. It was all still too raw and he worried he wouldn't be able to climb back out once he opened that door again. Well, Venus would always be able to pull him out, but his worry now was getting these plants watered.
Deinos's eyes crinkled as he smiled. A soft rumbling chuckle reverberating through his chest before traveling through Venus with their touching bodies. "You know, with all the stuff going on I forgot you were a flutter." His eyes uncrinckled but his smile remained warm as he stared down at her. "Maybe it won't be so difficult after all". With a quick nuzzle he stepped away to lead them to a path within eyesight. "If we follow this path we should make it to the town in less than an hour. I've never been to his shop, but he mentioned it is a knick knack shop so hopefully its on the main road."
Deinos took a breath and held it. His time of having panic attacks was coming to an end. And some day in the near future he will have the last panic attack he'd ever have. Smiling to Venus he chippered up "ready to start on our next adventure?"

Venus' gaze softened when she heard his words. It tugged her heart deeply. She felt something had happened in his life.. something bad. She frowns softly before giving him another deep nuzzle. "Well.. Whenever you want to tell me about those thoughts, I am here. You know that." She licked his nose before glancing at the garden.
"My dear Deinos.. How can you forget when my wings are in plain sight, dear." She giggled, using one of her wings to boop him on the nose. She glanced towards the path. Her ears perked up at knack shop. "Knacks?! Why didn't you say so? We can get things there for our home! I think they'll have the herbs I need to make some medicine!" She trots a bit down the path. "Come on!"
"I am always ready for an adventure with my venusaur!" She grins, turning to glance in the area around the paths, trotting slowly.

Deino's tried to shrug in a nonchalant way. "Oh, you know" in response to her question on him forgetting one of the most stand out things about her. "Just the kind of thing that starts to narrow your vision and all you can hear is the static and the negative thoughts" shrugging now before starting on the path he had showed her. "But I'm sure everyone gets those. Nothing that could ever permanently make me forget such an important part of you" smiling down towards the mini walking besides him as he tried to reassure her. In fact, he was as sure he could recite everything he knew about her in an instance as he was the rain would fall again. The question with both being if they happened in a timely manner.
Deinos then nodded at her knick knacks quandary. "His name is Dorian Ritter, and I've met him a few times on his supply runs." Deinos began to match Venus' steps and naturally fell into rhythm as they began the short walk to town. Deinos easily falling into the memory of theor first meeting. "The wheel on his wagon had fallen off. It had been his first cart and he spent the entire time telling me how he was ready to chuck it into a ditch and get a new one. Well, that and about his shop where he made art peices out of normal every day items he found in the forest." The panic attack from earlier melting away as he walked forward with Venus. She was safety incarnate for him. Maybe not the kind that kicks ferociously like a cornered bull. But the silent confedence of a bull in open fields surrounded by his herd. Always there, unfailingly. Deinos' story continued. "I've never seen the inside of his shop, but he had an acorn piece he had finished as he lunched and was pretty fun. Anyways, I figure maybe he wouldn't mind letting us borrow the cart. I sure hope it rains soon." Deinos fell silent and looked to Venus, a slight frown on his face. "Let me know if your hooves start to get sore. I can probably carry you with my vines. .....Though one or more may enjoy it a little too much." Glaring slightly at the vine who's main expression seemed to be a kiss face.

Venus's ears perks up at him and frowns. She knew that it was not something normal. Unknown to Deinos, her mind races within her. She knew it was something in his past that haunts him. She didn't know who it was or how bad it had been. She glances to the sky while stopping. "...My dear goddess.. Surely you are not giving us a drought to push us in a certain way.. Are you? I know you'll give us the rain when the time is right. I trust you." She turned her gaze towards him once again. "Deinos, my dear kind heart..." She trots back to him. "No.. No no no.. Not the way you have been having those panic attacks. I am not asking for answers now. But I do want to know when YOU are ready. Whoever is giving you panic attacks in your sweet mind needs to back off. I know you better than anyone. You are an amazing stallion. Please keep that in your mind and... " She stood up on her hindlegs and presses her nose where his chest is. "Your heart." She knew the pain within him must hit him like a thunderstorm. One that would be showing up soon. Both literally and figurately....
She gets back down to all four legs, standing close enough to where both the vines and him could feel her as a form of reassurance. "Dorian, huh? He sounds interesting!" She gives him a cute smile. "Well.. you can't put the cart before the soquili. We all need to learn. Maybe that was the best time for him to get shop going! Was he a traveler prior to that?"
She nodded gently. "The weather can be finicky, you know. I wouldn't be surprised if a storm suddenly appear right before we get there." She perks up at his words about the cart. "I don't think he would mind at all especially if you got someone like me who i----." She widened at his next statement. "U.. m.. Um.." Her cheeks became red as Litten's red markings. "D.. Deinos? I'll be fine.. " She hides her face in his shoulder, muttering more words that is unable to be figured out in that time. All of sudden, she just muttered an apology to one of the vines, most likely the derpy one and grabs it with her teeth. She starts walking like a female who has just been discovered by her crush, pulling him down the path. At least trying to...
