Fiora gently opened her eyes. It was a chilly morning, and she had just slept under the stars. Now it was early morning and still dark outside. She rolled to her side and got on her hooves. Something was amiss. The birds weren't chirping. Where did they go? She trotted around the tree line, hoping to hear light chirping-- but to no avail. Confused, she trotted back th where she slept. And then she noticed a single snowflake land on her nose. Was it going to snow again? Suddenly, the winds picked up, and the temperature dropped. Fiora noticed that she could clearly see her breath now. "Blizzard!" she exclaimed, as she made a dash for the tree line. As she ran through the trees, she noticed more and more snow fall and the winds get harsher and harsher. No chriping, no sqeaking, no nothing could be heard. She was alone.

Fiora saw a cave up in the distance and made a mad dash for it. When she got there, she made a fire with some sticks and decided to camp out. From the cave, she watched the blizzard grow worse. "Thank the heavens I don't see anyone down there stuck in the blizzard," Fiora said, as she paced back and forth the entrance to the cave.

The fire crackled and snapped. Fiora stared at the lights dance and began reflecting on the year she's had. This natural disaster is giving me time to pause.. to think.. to reflect. Maybe this is a good thing for me, she pondered, as her mind wandered to various events from last year.
